Darling Husband has had baby fever since I started dating him at 19. He has always wanted children and anyone who knew us knew that. As soon as we got married everyone wanted to know when we were going to have a baby because Darling Husband shared his baby fever. All the kids in our familes adore him as he acts like a kid and always plays with them when they ask.

At 26 Darling Husband and I bought a house and at 28 he will be having a baby. He makes comments sometimes about how he is going to be so old and thought he would have multiple kids by now. Really?! When would that have happened?

I wanted to wait 3-4 yrs after we got married before we started trying but I got baby fever a few months after we got married and Darling Husband was so excited.

@GreenEyedMoon- I love when he gets aggravated or stressed about something now (especially my list of home projects) and everyone just reminds him that he begged me for a baby lol

Ugh, yes. My husband is 32 so all of his friends are on like baby #3 and I can tell he’s ALL ABOUT THE BABIES. I told him nothing is coming out of me until I’m done with all of the CPA exams (probably another year or so). I do feel a little guilty sometimes that he’ll be an older dad, but he swears it’s okay. He jokes that I have to finish so I can make the big bucks, be the sugar mama, and he can stay at home and raise the kids. I’m all for it!

@misspeanut:  LOL…My SO is going to be a Stay-At-Home Dad too.  I love it.  But we both have the fever and have for awhile.  We just started TTC last month.

I’m the one with the crazy baby fever so I totally understand your Darling Husband.  Don’t ban him from babies though!

For me, getting to spend time with babies helps to keep my baby fever in check!  Not in a “OMG I’m totally not ready to deal with this yet” sort of way.  But more in a “soothing of the cravings” sort of way.  I’m pretty sure my baby fever would be even more crazy if I didn’t get to play with and hold babies occasionally.

Me!!!!!

He loves babies and kids.  I mean, I’ve been told that you will like your own kids and I guess I believe that, but he likes <gasp> other people’s kids.

I finally agreed to not try, but not use protection because he’s got baby fever so bad.  Hopefully I can get another year or so of no baby.  He’s younger too, go figure.

Ahh I wish! My Darling Husband would never pick up a baby or coo over them. I guess it used to make me think he didn’t want kids.

A friend’s baby just came to visit and he decided he wasn’t going to hold the baby. He said he wants his own baby to be the first one he holds. ugh.

I’m not even ready to have a baby, but I wish Darling Husband would like them a lot more.

Darling Husband was all about waiting a few years for kids until we got married. Now he’s all about a baby asap and I’m not quite there yet. He’s respectful of the fact I want to wait a bit, but he talks about it alllll the time.

This thread is blowing my mind. I’ve never in my life met a guy who wanted children. The only guys I know that like them, like their own kids.

@PinkMagnolia:  You should see my Darling Husband. He has the whole “scary quiet” demeanor (he’s really nice…just very introverted lol), but turns into this goofy cartoon character around babies. It’s ridiculous.

@PinkMagnolia:  My Darling Husband loves kids too (just like me)!  He just doesn’t have “the fever” yet.  But get him around any little kid and he wants to play and tickle and do “peek-a-boo” and make funny faces.

It’s kind of adorable.  🙂

Haha that’s really sweet that he is so smitten with babies!  Mine runs when there is a child around.

that is so adorable. i dont know that i could resist that.

as of right now, i’m the one who will coo over babies more, but he is the one that actually wants one of our own!

(i’d just like to play with one for a few hours and give it back, hhaha!)
