Every close friend I have got married and had a baby within a 2 year span.  During that time I was in an awful dead end relationship. I am not saying yours is dead end, but I know what it feels like to want to be happy for someone but to feel jealous and let down instead.

Literally the second I stopped obsessing about it I found the strength to move on and now I am with someone who is marriage minded.

Shift your focus, practice gratitude for where you are at. If you do that, I’d bet you find that things work out quickly.

gagal2016 :  I’m waiting what feels like eons, too. Last night I was just like “I want an exercise bike because there things I’m hoping will happen within the next couple of years that I’d like to lose some weight for.”

How about you and I buy cattle prods and hang them on the wall where our SOs spend most of their time?

gagal2016 :  One of my friends is in a similar situation, worrying that if she ends it she’s making a mistake (everyone else knows she wouldn’t be making a mistake in her situation). But waiting for someone to be what you one day hope they’ll be is just sad.

You’ve participated here for long enough to know blind encouragement and support isn’t really what this forum/most forums have to offer. We’re all living life and have experiences of our own that make us feel a certain way. “Judgment” is not always unfounded just because it may offend your optimism.
