Wort is home.
Wort is adorable, perfect and delightful!
Last night, Wort stopped eating, started throwing up and scared the hell out of me.
Luckily, he came from a good breeder, who told me to call her anytime, which I did, at five his morning. After telling her about his generally yucky symptoms and total lack of energy, she reassured me that he was fine, this was normal and just needed some honey.
I was dubious, but panicked so down the hatch went a teaspoon of honey, in ten minutes he was up and around, after a can of chicken, a bowl of food and two bowls of water, he’s back on top and snoozing next to me.
So we’re writing that down, Step One: Give Him Honey.

Low blood sugar probably. Poor puppy. So glad he has a good owner like you!
Yay he’s home. Where’s the obligatory cute puppy is home pic?

@Nona99: Thanks for sharing. I have given my little man puree pumpkin when he has an upset tummy, but I haven’t heard of giving honey.
Do you have any new pictures of Wort? 🙂

This makes me feel all warm and happy inside. Not the him being sick part, of course, but the him being with you where he belongs part. 🙂

@beachbride1216: Is right, Chihuahua puppies are notorious for low blood sugar. I’ve even read recommendations to give them many small meals a day for the first few weeks.
Can’t wait for pictures!

I second a PP saying low blood sugar. It can be common in Chi’s. Honey is a great, super and easy fix. 🙂
I cannot wait to see precious WORT!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂 Congrats!

Somehow, I thought you were going to recap how you convinced Mr99 that you needed Wort, and that “honey” was a code word for something else. My apologies.

It definitely sounds like low blood sugar. Good thing you called the breeder when you did and took care of it. That would’ve gone downhill quickly.
I originally read the title as “Give Him Money.” I couldn’t figure out why that was in the Pets category.

Glad your baby is ok! I wish the breeder would have explained low blood sugar to you before you took Wort home, if you hadn’t have been as perceptive and quick about it the situation could have been much worse.
Now get us pictures! We are dying over here haha.
