@cyndistar3:

Sorry about your situation but it cost more than 15 dollars a day for a babysitter.

@Atalanta: That’s what I was thinking. Or maybe babysitters are less expensive where she lives?

she could be getting assistance from the state so that it is only $15.

my advice is honestly have a sit down chat with your step sister. if that doesn’t work then i would get in contact with the child’s father. maybe he needs to step in and take custody of the child because honestly that child is being neglected from what you are telling us.

@Atalanta: I think that’s not really the point.

To the OP: I’m so sorry.  I can only imagine how difficult it is to basically watch a child be neglected.  All I can say is I’m glad you’re around to help out when you can.  Have you talked to your dad and his girlfriend about your concerns?

damn that’s a good deal, I can hardly even find someone to feed a cat once a day for that much.

@cyndistar3:

It’s a good thing that child has you around!  He probably is happier being around you.  Poor baby 🙁   Good on you.  You are more mature than she is.  There are more important things than money-as you know! 🙂

@cyndistar3: I’m sorry if this has been asked/answered in another thread, or if it’s too personal and you don’t want to answer….but where is your mom in all of this?

It’s terribly sad that your dad tells you/people he thinks your step-sister is a failure. Even if he has never said that directly to her, I’m sure she can tell – people can pick up on feelings like that usually. And she’s a single mom with little support in her life, whatever her motives were for getting pregnant. It sounds like both of you are in difficult home/family situations and both are very young. Wish you both would get the support you need.

wow…She seems to have really low self esteem.

You should try to get her to talk to someone. Sorry that you’re dealing with this.
