🙁 I have been on the shoe hunt for a while and finally found some that are THE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes in the whole wide world-but-they are flats, like really flat, and so I have no lift off of the floor and noticed I step on the dress a bit when I make a sharp turn. With the slip, it helps, but the dress still drags a tiny bit on the sides and in the back (small train), it looks just right, doesnt actually touch the floor, or barely, until the mid-part towards the back, but I tried it on today and walked a bit in it w/the new shoes (was so excited!) and noticed if I turn too quickly, I step on the dress (it’s a lace style, with not a lot of poof to it). So I then tried it on with heels, so see if getting it up higher from the floor would help, only to find-same thing but it’s just the back/side part of the dress that I step on (and only when I turn).
So I tried pinning it on the sides, but then it looked funny going back to the train, (short train, but still a train- about 6 to 8 inches back onto the floor). So then I tried to see what it would look like bustled but the back looks funny if I put it up high enough to get out of the way of my feet.
Maybe I’ll just turn VERY carefully… I guess I’m not used to wearing longer formal gowns, is this common, am I crazy? My dress is lace with sequin and beading details, would be bummed if I messed it up, but at the same time, I just dont know how you would avoid it, maybe I’m just not graceful? My dress is slightly higher off of the floor than the model below:
