whitechedderpopcorn :  For sure. Bezel is the most secure setting you could get, and i don’t see silver as being problematic in that respect or otherwise. I really feel that with all the metals and alloys now, it really just comes down to personal preference. Get what you love. Happy shopping.

whitechedderpopcorn :  My cousin and her husband have silver wedding rings. They just celebrated 20 years and the rings look fine. The husband does a lot of work around the house, they both garden, and she’s a professional chef. They don’t take their rings off for that stuff.

I personal wouldn’t do it if you’re clumsy like me…  My friend had a wedding band that was SS and it snapped in half on her honeymoon…  She wasn’t thrilled …

i would go for 10k gold if price is the issue…

VintageGirl1020 :  But then you’re adding in maintenance that wouldnt be necessary if she went with silver. As long as she didn’t have an incredibly thin band, it shouldn’t be a problem. If she went white 10k gold, she’d have to replate it constantly, and if she’s allergic to nickel, it’s a no go.

I mean.. I have a silver RHR ring i never take off (I’m beyond clumsy), with a thin band (around 3mm), that i’ve worn for many years that’s close to pristine. This thread made me so curious, I actually sat here and tried to bend it (it’s rather inexpensive), and couldn’t.

I used to love wearing sterling silver until most of my pieces started to make me break out.  Turns out lots of sterling silver contains nickel.  I can wear pure or fine silver as its 99.9% silver but can’t wear most sterling silver 92.5% silver.

My rings are nickel free white gold or platinum.

whitechedderpopcorn :  Sterling silver has plus’ and minus’. I am allergic to nickel and gold, so I can wear silver. If you don’t wear them every day, they will begin to tarnish. After time the metal will get thinner and waste away from bumps and dings. I’ve had sterling silver jewlery for years, but I don’t wear them every day and I am very careful with them. I do not wear them while I wash my hands, eat, clean, sleep…basically I only would wear it to work. Would it work for a couple of years, yes. However, after that I may suggest having a 2 year upgrade to a more trusty metal. Good luck!

ecouchgirl83 :  wow, just stunning. Im getting the other bezel that they sell. Its all silver and looks like its antiqued a little maybe. I didnt want mine to look so much like an engagement ring because Im wearing it on my right hand. After seeing yours Im super excited! I have to come up with a reason to tell my husband I need yet another new ring.lol  Well wear yours in good health and many blessings to you and your beloved. 🙂

whitechedderpopcorn :  honestly I dont know where people are buying thier silver but Ive never I mean NEVER had any problems with mine. Ive worn silver my whole life and honestly have had less problems with it than with gold, Ive had to have a white gold bracelet resodered because the weave broke, Ive had to have a setting replaced in a diamond white gold &platinum ring because a prong broke and the only damage thats happened to my sivler is one bangle bracelet that had arrows on the end lost one of the arrows, and that bracelet had belonged to my 80+ year old grandmother who bought it when she was in her 30s. I mean really, ive just never heard of being careful with silver, bathe in mine I wash cars, clothes, dishes and cook in mine. I boil mine when I want to clean my stones, its just not a problem. It just isnt. I say buy from a reputable source and Im not a fan of rhodium plating, but if it is its STILL ok, I have swarovski jewelry all of which is rhodium plated and it is still as shiny as the day they were purchased over 10yrs ago.

Thanks.  I am absolutely loving this ring.  I wear it doing everything.  Gold breaks me out.  That’s y I went with silver.  Can’t wait to see pics of your new ring.  Plus with the price they have on these rings I can order 2 3 or maybe 4 lol.  I like that.  It’s a beautiful ring.  Unique as me.  The brilliance is amazing.  This stone changes from bright blue to pale and calm blue depending on lighting.  I love all the shades.  I have an antique 9k 1 carat round diamond that sits really high.  I’ve knocked the stone loose already.  When I seen this ring it was perfect.

hsharp2001 :  I’ve never had any problems with mine and with the way the precious metals market is going now.  Silver seems to be increasing in value while gold is trickling down the ladder.  Don’t get me wrong I love all things that sparkle.  But silver has always been my main.
