is fine. Steve's just an intern anyway, pfft.

    is an eyesore.

isn't terrible, but could look a lot better.

It looks great; Steve must be a real jerk who never wants to actually get a job working with adults

@DrTeeth:  Haha, yah.  I HATE that I got the vibe that he was gay just by the fact that he said that to you.   I guess when men aren’t trying to sleep with you they have no filter!

I totally thought he was gay too. I even read his statement with a stereotypical gay movie character voice. I think your hair is gorgeous, but it looks a little out of control. I don’t think it’s frumpy and I don’t agree with Steve, but I do think a professional hairdresser could do amazing things with it.

Oh Steve, reminds me of my favorite gays. One of whom told me in HS that my hair made me look like a starving pageboy. :/ I love them though, you can trust them to say what everyone else is thinking. However, don’t throw yourself too much in a gay vision – it could end up ala Kardashian or ala RuPaul. Very fine line.

I personally think your hair looks fine. I wish I had hair that healthy and shiny looking! Maybe see about evening out the layers if it really bugs you?

    1.  Steve needs to keep his opinions too himself.

    2.  Your hair isn’t a train wreck, but I think it would look much better if you went an had it cut.

It looks like the right side is a little more chopped up than the left, but not a trainwreck by any means.

I think it looks good for a DIY.  Definitely not a train wreck.

I used to cut my own hair sometimes.  It always looked OK but never all that great.  Now I pay to get it done – I just go to Great Clips, with a coupon, and spend under $10 and it looks way better than when I did it myself, and is pretty easy to afford.

    a) What a jerk.

    b) Your hair is not a trainwreck. While it’s not great, I would just assume that you get your hair cut at a chain salon versus a higher end salon. Knowing that you did it yourself, I think it looks pretty good. I sure as hell couldn’t cut my own hair. If your choice is cut it yourself or go to a cheap chain salon, keep cutting it yourself until you’re in a better position financially.

Now. I’ve had haircuts ranging from $10 to $40, different stylists, different types of salons. My current stylist is on the higher end of the mid-range of that and I love her. Their salon is also great with continuing education and keeping up with new products, techniques, etc.

I think you have lovely hair and I’m impressed that you cut it yourself BUT it looks very heavy.  It may be worth it to invest in a professional haircut once every six months or so, just so they can thin it out and make it hang off your head less.  Luckily, thinning doesn’t need to be done very often and you can still cut your own hair in between!

    Your hair is absolutely fine!

Steve is just jealous that he does not have this type of talent. I cut my DH’s hair and I do a better job than those $20 haircuts. I am not bragging. He gets complimented on it. I don’t have any training. It is all trial and error and confidence.

Some people think that only certain ppl should be allowed to do certain jobs and ANYONE else who even ATTEMPTS it is going to fail. Period. For him, only a hairstylist can cut hair. Only an interior designer can make the house look pretty, etc. I do understand that there are some techniques that only hairstylists are superb at but for your everyday cut, it’s not a difficult thing to pick up.

Ummm… Your hair is fine.  Dont worry about him.  But um…. Did you tell Steve he needed a haircut?  If thats how the conversation started then his comment was a probably a knee jerk reaction to your criticism of him.

@DrTeeth:  Dude, your hair looks great. I could imagine asking you where you got it done if we lived in the same area and then being like “cut my hair for me plz” when you said you did it yourself.

I used to cut my own hair but I finally found someone affordable and good nearby. I’m happy either way 🙂 I missed getting those head massages though, it’s like the best part of a haircut.
