We’re doing a small cake and some little French desserts from a local bakery, but this is still my favourite cupcake/dessert inspiration pic. The frosting looks so fluffy!!

If you pick a simple piped frosting with a sprinkled embellishment the costs are more reasonable because they are not so labor intensive

vs something more elaborate that takes a lot of time

You could always just make or buy a small one layer cake and then a giant sheetcake from a bakery or like a grocery store if your wedding is not super formal cheap way to get alot of cake.

@Ms.BlueEyesDC:  I am a baker and I know how hard it is to create a wedding cake, but I dont think you should shut someone down for wanting less tiers. Cupcakes are a good option but only if you dont ask for designs and it’s kind of hard to design them yourself after they have been out for a few hours because they start to crust and nothing will adhere, unless you are going for toothpicks and flags or something.

But i think you should still have a small cake to cut and an anniversary tier. 🙂
