I just posted this pic on another board so here you go! This is 7mm diamond (1.5 carat but faces up smaller since its an old cut) and my finger size is 4.75.

I love the size of my ring but would go up to 7.5 mm with a solitaire! Really  a half mm is a very small difference and which ever you choose will be great!

paidersgirl :  I think the 7.5 looks great on your finger but it does overpower the eternity band. Maybe get 2 bands!

paidersgirl :  I would totally do the 7.5mm!!! Like others have said, ring shrinkage is a real thing and would not look overpowering on your hand. I recently purchased a moissanite from Zen Moissanite and they’re currently having a sale (20%) so you could technically get your 7.5mm for the price of a 7mm or even cheaper. Here’s a video of their 7mm grey round.

I have a 1.25 carat diamond and a size 4 finger and I still think it looks huge! I’d go with the smaller size, especially since you want to pair it with an eternity band. Personally I’m planning on getting a plain band as I jus think an eternity band paired with the side stones on my ring is too much bling.

paidersgirl :  here’s my 7.5 mm on a 5.25 finger. As I said, I wish it were a bit smaller since I’m just drawn to the look of a slightly smaller stone. I love it though. 🙂

greeneyedbee :  and personally I had the opposite of “shrinkage.” Mine looks huge now to me. Don’t go with what MIGHT happen (shrinkage). Go with what you like now. Hubby picked mine so I didn’t really try them on but since you are trying them on and seeing what you like better, go with whichever one you like now.

    I vote 7.5mm, too. I’m a 3.75 ring size and am getting a 7mm, so . . . Lol

By the 7.5 mm! It just takes a few months, and you are going to feel it’s too small!!

paidersgirl :  Here is pic of my ring, which is a 1.35 carat (a little over 7 mm), on a size 5.5 finger.

I think it is a good size, but would probably feel just as comfortable with a 1.5 carat center stone.

I have a almost 7mm 1.26 ct diamond in a 5 1/4 finger.  Some  days it feels a little small.  With all of the halos out there, and living in NY where rings are usually large, some days it just feels smaller than others.   If you live in an area where rings are typically larger I would say go larger.

I’ve got a size 5 with a 7.5mm moissy and definitely recommend it! I think it looks way bigger in pics. Shrinkage is 100% a real thing!

Mine is 1ct on a size 5 finger. I never think it looks too small. Often, I wonder if I should have gone smaller. Dainty fingers with giant rocks is a preference. I think shrinkage is bunk.
