I’ve been looking around the net and get conflicting advice so I’m asking for some help. I’ve bought these shoes for my November wedding (see link) and I’d prefer not to wear stockings. Is it okay to go without stockings for a wedding? I’m already flouting convention by wearing color in my wedding dress…

you do not need to wear stockings! I don’t wear them in the winter-wedding or not! It’s totally up to you! And I think you’ll be warm enough in your long gown that you feet and legs won’t freeze without them. I say no way! (But I have a general dislike for them anyway.)

Oh god – I NEVER wear stockings – they were definitely made by a man they are so uncomfortable!
If you are afraid of discoloration in your legs don’t worry about it your wearing a long dress no one will even know!

i only wear them if it’s more comfy with my shoes, and only with closed toed shoes. and really only for work. i don’t think you have to for your wedding, it’s your decision.

No.Stockings.Ever. Unless you’re under the age of 10 or over the age of 70 you just don’t need them.

i wear stockings every single day, i find them very feminine and have worn them my entire working life…… but only you will notice if your wearing them or not
although i kinda like idea of wearing sexy nylons that only my hubby will see 🙂

Yeah I haven’t wore stockings with open toed shoes since I was like 8 so my vote is Nope. 🙂 get a cute pedicure and show it off instead.

Yeah, I don’t believe you need too esp since you had a long dress.
I wear stocking only on occasion..but my wedding–I won’t be. It will be hot dancing around and I would die with stockings on!
But maybe afterwards: some nice black stocking with some lingerie for that night!

Stockings are not needed for open toe or long dresses. I don’t think they look good if they can be seen (as in if you can tell someone is wearing them by looking at their sandals or peep-toe shoes)

no one’s going to see them under the dress – but if you feel more comfortable in stockings (it might help chaffing of new shoes?) then go ahead and wear them. i don’t think you should feel that it’s necessary though.

I hate stockings – especially so called NUDE ones!!! I mean, whose skin is that color??

Who wears stockings anymore?! Ok maybe for REALLY formal job interviews.
I had to pull my mom’s teeth to convince her not to wear stockings with her peep toes! it looks so werid! don’t do it =]

I also vote no. I tried to wear some smexy thigh-highs on my wedding day, but it made the back of my shoe keep slipping off so my shoe wouldnt even stay on. I had to take them off almost as soon as I put them on lol (good thing my wedding dress had enough layers and enough poof to hide me because I had to take them off in public!)
