Has anyone else gone through the pain of having their wedding and engagement jewellery stolen during a burglary? How did you cope with the loss of your rings? Did you buy replacements straight away?
It took me nearly 20 years to get a set I was ok with. Nothing will replace the rings that I lost, but I love the ones I have now.

I didnt have mine stolen, but I did lose my original engagement ring which was my husbands grandmother’s. I still feel like a big back of poop about it and could never tell his parents out of embarrasment, just told them it doesnt fit and I put it away. Its a terrible feeling either losing or having somthing stolen so special to you. Beautiful set btw!

i recently lost a family heirloom ring while on vacation – still can’t fathom how it happen. ruined the trip, and i cried for days (and still get super upset over it). it was the wedding band of my great-grandmother (my namesake) and a diamond from a pair of earrings from my grandmother (they were left to my sister and I), and my mother took the earring and had it set in the ring for me. So 4 generations of involvement, and totally irreplacable. i have this one pic of the ring, thankfully. but still so so so sad it’s gone ):

My rings were stolen during a burglary too…it sucked big time…I didn’t know there was home owner’s insurance to cover rings so I lost out on getting the rings fully replaced. So my home owner’s insurance only covered some of the cost to replace them. But I was able to custom design my new rings so that was the upside. 💍

I don’t know how to tag people, but mimi369, that is so sad, I feel so bad for you. And vhenke1, you’re right, it does suck, it took me so long to find rings I was happy with, although it is not the same. ilovesophia, oh my goodness, I am so sorry you lost that ring, it truely is one that can’t be replaced. When my rings were stolen, they took the rest of my jewellery too, including my Nanas ring. It was a sapphire and diamond eternity band from England bought shortly after the 2nd world war. I still look on line and in pawn shops for it.
fordie1018, yes, you are right, even if you go out and get new rings nothing replaces the original engagement and wedding rings, especially if as in your case, and in others, they were heirlooms. adoresanimals, I know what you’re saying, I make sure we have insurance now, we didn’t back then. Im glad you were able to custom design your new rings.
