They might fix it, but I doubt they would do it for free, it has been over a year, and their warranty only covers the brilliance of the stone, not quality of worksmanship.

They should fix it…but at a price. The warrenty does not cover stone loss or damage to the ring but only the brilliance of the stone.

MrsCassie :  She did mention that it’s less than a year old. smile

It happens. I’d just take it to a local jeweler and have them reset the stone. Setting fees are generally $50 or less. I doubt MCom would reset it for free. You’ve had it for a bit and things happen…it could have been dropped, knocked, banged. Sending it back and forth in the mail just adds to the expense of such a small repair.

If the stone just fell out, I’d call moissaniteCo first, but if they want you to pay, try taking it to a local jeweler and have them re-set the stone. Unless you broke off a prong, setting it shouldn’t be hard – just set diamond in and tighten prongs with prong pliers. They should be able to do it while you wait.ย

wailz :  My appologies for misreading, but regardless, time isn’t the issue so much as wear and tear, and since the ring does not have a warranty, just the stone, it still seems reasonable it won’t be a free fix, but bonus points to them if they go that route!

No matter what happens though, do not let anyone who isn’t familiar with setting colored moissanite stones set it! Done incorrectly, the color can fade or be removed! If you have to pay to have it re-set, I’d send it to Schubach’s.

janeblack :  Happy to hear they’re taking care of things for you! Hope the wait passes quickly so it’s back on your finger!

I’m sending my ring in soon for warranty cleaning, rhodium plating, and inspection….so I know I’m going to have the “phantom ring” feeling which I hate.

Sweet, that is fantastic to hear! Their CS game has stepped up. May your ring return swiftly , and sparkle like new again once the build up is removed too.
