How would you Bees handle this?
The dream company you’ve wanted to work for, for years has a few position opening up in another state you intend to move to. You get the call from the recruiter, pass the phone interview with her and then she schedules you with the hiring manager at the company. You wait for the call. It never comes. You have the contact info of the hiring manager and another hiring manger so you email them and call and leave a message but they never respond.
Really rude and unprofessional but I really want to work for this company. It’s somewhat small and has a good reputation. This all happened over 3 weeks ago and the listing is still up on their site.
So…..how do I just get someone to respond to me? It’s so weird – I can’t get a single return on an email or phone call. I can’t even get someone to tell me to stop contacting them.

@skippydarling: That’s so frustrating! Do you have the contact info of the recruiter who you talked to during the first phone interview? Since you haven’t heard anything, AND had a scheduled interview with them, I wonder if something is going on internally which caused them to miss the call?

This is… odd. I’d chalk it up the the holidays but it’s been 3 weeks.
Take it as a red flag and keep trying to contact them, especially if the listing is still up.

@skippydarling: I know my office shut down a week ago (but really, we wound down almost 2 weeks ago). I would call them on Monday. Try and touch base with the recuriter as well.
Stay upbeat and positive in your messages and emails 🙂

@skippydarling: I would say wait until after the holidays in your case. I had a similar issue a few years ago. I wanted to work for an oilfield company, and they were very interested, passed the phone interview, and then they just flat out ignored me for a month. I then went back and saw the job deadline was extrended another two months, called them, still said they were interested, I left a message with the hiring manager to get to meet him/her, and never heard abck AGAIN. I kept trying different people, everything. Finally, they posted the job out again, and I threw up my arms. I had enough being jerked around and found something else. Thier loss 🙂

Ugh, how annoying! I would call them next week and if they don’t call back then don’t bother with them! I wouldn’t want to work for them if they can’t treat their potential employees right…how would they treat their employees??
