I do this a lot, and I was wondering if anyone does anything similar? There’s a stoplight at the end of my street, I NEVER get through that light without stopping, it’s a fact. Today, I zoomed through green all the way, and I thought to myself, “Huh…gonna be a good day.”
As if the stoplight gods were giving me the green light for an awesome and amazing Friday, just pull er on through Nona…today is your day!
Anyone else think this kind of stuff? Or am I crazy?

@Nona99: I have reverse stoplight divination, I swear to holy hell. My husband has noticed it. “Why is it every time you’re in the car we always get red lights?”
I try to send vibles/think, “Green, green, green, stay green,” as much as possible. It might be that I’m adding “you whore” that’s messing it up, though.

I do that too. If I get stuck at every red light, then I just assume that my delay would have avoided some great catastrophe in the near future. I work with developmentally delayed adults and whenever my clients are in the car with me we try to count down when the light is going to change. If one of us announces it correctly, that person is proclaimed “super psychic” for a day. Crazy, yes, but its a fun way to keep them from killing each other in the backseat 🙂

LOL. I was interpreting “stoplight divination” as being I have control over the stoplight (which I completely believe I could if I tried hard enough and maybe quit calling them whores :/ ). I see that what you’re talking about is the stoplight has control over other things instead. Meh, could be that way, too. (scratches head) At least if I thought about it that way I could see getting a red light as a positive thing, like, “This light could be saving my life right now and I’m so thankful it just turned red and saved me.”

@Sunfire: I do the same thing with the radio…I drive for sanity a lot…it’s really odd…but if I’m chewin on a problem and I just can’t get it figured out, I grab my keys, hit the road and by the time I get back, it’s all figured out..sometimes, if I’m thinking about what to do in the car, and an awesome song comes on…I know I’m on the right track and that whatever I was thinking about, is what I should do.

@Nona99: I take naps for that reason, lol.
I despise driving and only do it because I have to. 🙂
It’s cool that you started this thread today. The other day I was thinking about some quirky thing I always do and wondering if other people do the same kind of thing. Wish I could remember what it was . . . escapes me at the moment.

I do the same thing. I have 3 stop signs and 4 stop lights and then another stop sign on my way to work. So if I get stopped at every stop light on my way to work I know its going to be a bad day. Its not even that I “self profecize (spelling)” a bad day. I realized this is just how it works shortly after starting my current job. I noticed on days that I was stopped at every red light on my way there that I had a bad day that day. So I started keeping track and sure enough every time.
