This thread is hilarious.

I love Mason jars because they are hard to shatter, so we drink out of them here (I buy bad pesto in the small ones for kid sized glasses, and the thinner ones that alfredo type sauces are bottled in are less awkward in terms of spilling imo). That said, trends bug me so I highly doubt I will be using them in my wedding.

lol while I love mason jars, they are really getting overdone at this point.  But, you should totally use them! 😉 jk

I wish I was computer graphics literate as I would make a flow chart titled:

Should you use the mason jars?

And then put questions below that would lead to a YES:

“Are you a canner?”

“Do you live a ‘country’ lifestyle?”

“Do you already have mason jars in your home?”

And then ones that would lead to NO or one of the above questions:

“Did you see them in another wedding recently?”

“Do you love Style Me Pretty?”

“Do you think they’re ‘cute’?”

But they are so rustic and whimsical! And they look great in meticulously washed out photographs with pee colored sky!

This is hillarious I only had mason jars for our favors which was red pepper jelly and BBQ which I canned myself. We did have mason jars at our engagement party almost 2 years ago (begining of the crazy trend I think) and everyone wanted them.

I thought mason jars were for when you make jam. I do like how they look for decor but not my taste really.

LOL!

We can stuff, so for us it was a reusable option that didn’t involve recycling or the trash can.

That said, my Future Mother-In-Law mocked us when she found out we were using them. She thinks we think we are sooooo trendy now.

What is she going to say when she sees we have burlap runners?

I hope the paper flowers and plastic dinosaurs can save this wedding.

Ooops, did I forget to mention I made sisal rope/pattered fabric flag bunting too?

When I worked at a wedding last fall where there were racks of rental mason jars, I lost it.

@zomgwut:  Rental?! Seriously? Then again, the company renting them out is probably laughing all the way to the bank…
