I went off BC after my last period. Not sure if my PMS symtoms have kicked in becasue I’ve stopped BC or if I’m pregnant? Was prepping my body for pregnancy, didn’t think it would happen this quickly, I’m excited and nervous but really don’t want to get my hopes up. Has sex about 2 days before ovulating. I am now about 8-9 days from having my period. Here’s a list of what I’m feeling right now:
– cramps have been coming and going all day long
– feeling nauseous from time to time and have lost my appetite
– severe bloating over the last week
– tender boobs
– feeling really dazed
I don’t remember having these issues when I wasn’t on BC – about 5 years ago that is. And cramping without having my period has NEVER happened.
Any thought my beautiful bees?

Hey! You won’t know for a few more days, when it is more reliable to test. That said, I have not been on hormonal bc for… 10+ years, and my pms is identical to pregnancy symptoms, including the nausea, bloating, boob, and fogginess. It’s so annoying! Back when I didn’t want to be pregnant I was paraniod over symptoms like this. Now this is my first month TTC and I’m already dreading those symptoms because they can be for either pregnancy or pms. They are based on progesterone

Well pregnancy and PMS have like the same symptoms so that is why many women think they are pregnant and then end up not being pregnant. IMO, if they’re really pregnancy symptoms then you will get a BFP, if not then it’s probably just the progesterone (hormone in control after ovulation which produces those pms symptoms). Doesn’t mean you won’t possibly end up pregnant, just that symptom spotting is basically pointless.

sua2walt : I went off BC 3 months before TTC. That first month off BC my PMS symptons and AF were the worst I’ve ever remembered. The next two months they became less intense… barely had any PMS signs this month aside from bloating.

sua2walt : I thought I was pregnant a few times when I first TTC, but it ended up just being a weird period. It was the time I didn’t think I was pregnant that I ended up being pregnant, 8 months later.
