@lalalalauren:  It took me until like 14 dpo to get my BFP.  You’re so lucky you got yours right away! lol  Of course I was testing at 9 dpo and no luck.

I charted as soon as I stopped BCP and it was obvious that my body was takng a long time to clear the hormones, as my temperature stayed high for a while.  I think I ovulated around day 30-35 that first month and my period started sometime around days 40-45.  I would’ve gone crazy testing without those temps!

@JenniferD:  I was also on Ortho Lo for almost 10 years.  I was lucky, I didn’t have to wait forever. Unfortunately, my cycles went back to exactly what they were when I went on BC, every 3 weeks.  With B6 and B-Complex I lengthened my cycle (and my luteal phase) and I’m now PG 🙂

It’s still possible you’re pregnant, you could have ovulated late in your cycle. Test again in a day or two.

@finnaroo:  Are you my twin? This is my first month off of Ortho Tricyclen-Lo, my last period started on April 9th, I’m on CD36, still no period and BFNs. I feel like I’m going to get my period at any moment because of the cramping, but it still hasn’t shown. Hopefully we all get out of limbo soon!

Just wanted to say that I am sighing a huge sigh of relief over here….I knew coming off the pill could mess you around a bit but it is reassuring to see so many ladies going through exactly what I am going through.

keep the stories coming… thank-you

@JenniferD:  for starting this post

Do you think it is still possible to get a BFP even if I am on CD40? No idea when I ovulated….or if I have ovulated at all…hmm I need to start charting my temps…

I stopped taking the pill after 12 years and I got my period right on time 4 weeks later. I had some other side effects but I was very regular even after. However, I have friends who it took months to get into a regular cycle so it varies for everyone.

Maybe take a test just to be sure.

I just came off of the BCP also. I have been taking Ocella (generic for Yaz) for the past 9 years. I got my period on Saturday 5/11 and it has been VERY VERY light. Almost non exsistent. It is still there however all day today there has been nothing. It is not normal for me to only have my period for 4 days. It usually lasts 6 and is usually heavy the first 3 days. Not sure what is going on. Normally, I would have started my new BCP pack today but am trying to figure out my cycle and let my body see what ‘normal’ is.It is a very exciting and confusing time. I know I am not pregnant because I def had a period. Right? Now, I am second guessing myself…ugh! Mind games with myself!! GRR! I hope AF visits you ladies soon! I can imagine how frustrating it is!

I got a period 26 days in…but it was very light and I didn’t see it coming at all. after that I did get sorta regular periods but it’s been 8 months and they are still kinda weird, every 22-26 days and I had one random 40 day cycle…my doc said it’s all normal.

My period came back on time (every 27 to 28 days) after I stopped BC in mid-March. However, my PMS symptoms are much worse than before. Nausea is now a regular symptom. :/

@sheclicksherheels:  haha, maybe we are twins! my period came this morning actually, so it turns out to have been a 36 day cycle. which all in all isn’t too bad, considering so many other posters have very long cycles after stopping bcp. I was actually more relieved that it wasn’t too long than sad that this wasn’t our month after all

I was feeling this exact same way until this morning when AF arrived. I took my last BCP April 9th, spotted on the 10th (my birthday) and had AF April 11-16. I’ve been temping and charting with fertility friend. I O’d on CD 18, AF arrived this morning after having a 34 day cycle. I was feeling very anxious about waiting for AF. My chin broke out after going off BCP, and I normally have very clear skin. Hopefully everything will get back on track quickly because we want to start TTC in July.
