missmorris710:  yes the T&C flagship is fun because it’s one of the largest jewelry stores in the world, 6 floors of sparkles including some MASSIVE diamonds. There’s a whole floor of engagement rings, it’s essentially a diamond museum haha.

missmorris710:  OMG.. Thats HORRIBLE!  You have to be careful in the Diamond district because some of those vendor are Sharks and their diamonds look like they came straight out of the cracker jack box.  When my now Fiance and I decided to go ring shopping, I stumbled across Jangmi  online with over 200 reviews and 5 stars so we gave it a try and I am so glad we did!  They have beautiful stones and amazing customer service.  We did the same thing that you and your BF did.  We went to Jangmi but because it was our first time ring shopping, we decided to look at a few other near by and it sealed the deal on Jangmi.  Glad you had a great experience.  I hope  you and BF found something that you both Love

If you’re willing to travel to Brooklyn, and have an idea of what you want and willing to go the custom route, West End Jeweler has great prices. Many travel from Manhattan to get their jewelry cared for (sizing, custom, etc.). They will also source the diamonds for you in the specs you want. It’s not a fancy place and it’s family owned but they are really nice and shows you what you ask for and doesn’t try to sell you on anything other than what you want. You can check them out on yelp. The owners are quite proud of their yelp ratings and comments.

I also have a trusted jeweler in Queens, if you are interested but unlike West End, they don’t have a bench on staff so they send their jewelry out for sizing, setting, etc.

missmorris710: happy to help. I’m the type that gets ripped off easily so once I find businesses that are honest and stand by the quality of their products, I tell everyone. definitely check them out if you get a chance and if you ever decide you want to venture into flushing, queens, I can give you the address of the jeweler in queens. Most of my friends and family got their engagement rings and high end jewelry there. The quality is amazing.
