Story time! Did you end up with a ring the opposite of what you thought?

    I knew 100% what I wanted!

I had it picked out online before I even saw it... and was wrong 😂

    I changed my plans slightly

I went a COMPLETELY different way!

Spouse picked it and it was exactly what I wanted!

Spouse picked it and it was not true love at first sight...

@babymia2017: You have incredible taste! I love all of your rings, but don’t think I’ve seen your beautiful bezel wedding band (2nd from the top) before – I’m in love!

Well I knew what I did NOT want: I did not want a halo – on the grounds my sister got one and I needed to be different. I did not want a round stone – I felt they were too common among my friends. And I did not like three stones – they seemed dated.

I decided I wanted a classy timeless solitaire, prefeably an oval or an emerald cut – something elongated.

But I’m not a fan of prongs snagging, so I decided I also wanted a bezel. No problem, this totally goes with my mod style, and still feels timeless. I thought I was all done ring shopping.

Once I started trying on rings, however, turns out I wanted…. color. Wait! What?

I sort of wanted a colored gem as my center stone but DH thought it didn’t look like an engagement ring. Then we found it. A Three Stone! (Gasp!?!) and a ROUND center (Seriously?!?!) and it turns out I loved it more than any other ring I ever saw.

My original list went out the window. I did indeed stick to the bezel setting. And I think the three stone is just as timeless as a solitaire. And I still like how mod it looks.

Center stone = 2.1 ct round white sapphire. Side stones = 0.25 ct blue sapphires, princess cut.

I originally wanted a super tiny, minimalist ring! We actually bought a small .25 carat equivalent aquamarine ring with two tiny side diamonds. I realized I wanted something a bit bigger, though. But I still have the aquamarine.

I ended up with this 7mm alexandrite in a fancy setting!

it felt huge when I first got it, but I’m used to it now.

Hi! I saw you deleted your last post about your diamond. I really hope that I didn’t upset you, I was just giving advice that I wish I had gotten. Your ring is truly beautiful!

@gaia3465:  Thanks so much! It’s really different, but that’s one reason I love it!
