my Darling Husband has to eat his french fries individually before his hamburger. It drives me insane because when we are out eating, it looks like I’m a gluttonous pig because I eat my actual meal WITH my fried/side while he takes his sweet time eating one at a time.

Darling Husband is very neat with his clothes folding. He is also particular about having his food piping hot.

When I first started dating Fiance I found out he used to wash his whole body with shampoo – his reasoning was because he’s a hairy guy so it made the most sense!! haha

My Fi hates having his hair cut professionally.  HATES it!  He always begs me to do it, because apparently the professionals don’t do it right, but I had never cut a man’s hair until his!

mrslovebunny:  Mine does this too! She says it makes the syrup thicker lol

My Fiance also eats frozen (pre-cooked) food right out of the freezer. If I’m trying to bake frozen tater tots or fries she stands there eating them off the pan. The first time I saw her do that it was a big WTF moment. And she likes frozen bread. She also just likes to eat things while standing in the kitchen in general. If she’s making pasta she’ll just stand there and eat it. It drives me crazy sometimes because I never touch food until it’s all layed out and ready to eat at the table.

And she is also anti-plate. She only ever uses bowls for anything. Eating a burrito? – it’s in a bowl. A chicken breast? – in a bowl. Pie? – in a bowl. The other day she was asking me what I ate with cheese in it because it was stuck to a bowl and wouldn’t come off and I was like NO WAY you use the bowls I don’t use bowls for anything other than soup and cereal. Really she does a ton of weird things but I love her more for it 🙂

thesummerangel:  RedHeadKel:  As an “almost” Canadian as well (I’m from Maine), I concur on the syrup. It’s always the real stuff and always refrigerated.

Darling Husband always drinks out of the side of his mouth. It’s a habit he developed in Marine Corps so that he could drink without obstructing his vision and he just kept doing it.

He also always calls deodorant “arm deodorant” I have no idea why. He doesn’t refer to anything else as deodorant, so I’m unsure why he always makes the “arm” distinction.

racr335:  my Darling Husband does that too!  I wondered why he went through so much shampoo!  Now he loves my body wash so he sometimes steals some. He also used to need a body pillow to fall asleep with which bugged me and I have no idea why. Our puppy ate it last week so no more pillow!

Other weird food things is BBQ sauce on quesadillas.  I started him on PB and dark chocolate chips in his oatmeal which most people think is disgusting but is amazing.

My husband has some fairly strange eating habits, but the one I find the most disturbing is how he prepares ramen noodles. He undercooks the noodles and drains all the water before adding the seasoning packet plus ketchup and mayo. It smells and looks horrifying. I have never been brave enough to try it.

He cannot live without ranch dressing and mayonnaise. I will admit I have picked up his habit of dipping fries in ranch dressing and putting mayo on egg sandwiches.

Our poor hearts. I need to go back to eating clean 🙁

Lol, I was just reminded of another weird eating habit of DH’s last night during dinner – he refuses to eat the parts of french fries that are darker – ie the eyes of the potatoes or the skin unless it covers one whole side of the fry. He also doesn’t eat the meat close to the bone on ribs. Being someone who doesn’t want to waste food, I tend to clean up DH’s plate after he’s finished whenever we eat together.

mrslovebunny:  RedHeadKel:  We currently have fake maple syrup at home – bought it from Target – but I concur that you have to try the real stuff! We actually have a local maple syrup farm in my Mid-Western town, and the local amish community makes pure maple syrup as well, so I’ve had plenty of opportunity to have the real thing. Unfortunately, they don’t make it all year round and they only make small batches, so I have to settle for the fake stuff until they make more in the fall.

MrsGAM:  You can get the real stuff at Target any time! I just looked up one Target in IN and they had some. No idea where you are though! Might not be quite as good as the freshly made Amish stuff, though. Seriously craving pancakes now…

DH- he makes a peanut/jam sandwich and puts onions in it. Dips it in ranch dressing and then sprinkles Tabasco sauce. Every single bite. I haven’t converted into thinking this is an amazing thing to eat.
