So, yesterday a very sweet lady who is a friend of my family gave me a package containing her wedding gift to us. I was very thankful and was looking forward to seeing what she had brought us (she generally has very good taste, and I’ll be honest, I was a little excited!) BUT, upon opening it, lo and behold I was greeted with this:
I’m so glad that I waited until later to open it because I’m not sure what I would have said! Our wedding is next month, so nowhere near Christmas… Also, while I know that some people like this style of art, I’m just not a fan! Looks a bit too much like a child’s craft project for my taste 😛 At any rate, it was a good laugh! (I appreciate that she went out and bought a gift for us, I’m just not sure what was going through her head! lol)
Did you receive any gifts that just made you go “Huh??”

We got these small bowls made of wax. 4 of them. About the size of my palm maybe and I have no idea the purpose or who gave them to us. Maybe for votive candles? They were an ugly greenish yellow color. We kept them for a while but I think they got crushed eventually when moving them. Wish I took a pic to share haha

What in the world is that? haha it really looks like a child’s craft project. haha while my wedding isn’t for another year, I haven’t had this experience but I guess my parents received a kama sutra book from a guest at their wedding!

We were given a figurine of a bathtub with our initials on it. It’s in our storage unit so I can’t send a picture. I literally had no idea what to say when I opened it-in front of the gift giver!

izzyrebecca: Maybe she made it? But it’s probably more than likely a gift she received from a grandchild or something and maybe she’s strapped for cash and decided to regift it. I’d bring him out during Christmas as a paperweight but I’d eventually donate him to a school fair to be sold at oe of their stalls. He’s kind of cute though lol.

We got what can only be described as a small, glass jewelry box with a hinged lid, containing a smooth rock and a small, dried leafy plant.

That is hilarious! From my brother in law’s girlfriend we got this book of “Things I love about Him/Her” where you fill in the blank. Like “I love when you do ______” or “I love your _______” or “If you were a food you would be a ________”. And it was REALLY friggen weird. We ended up filling it in with ridiculous naughty stuff and it was hilarious. Plus she gave us these ring dishes….like they looked like butter dishes…”his”, “hers”, and “ours”. Neither myself nor my husband are the lovey dovey type. I mean of course I have my moments…but there is NO WAY IN HELL I would use His and Hers butter dishes…….

Lol! It’s hilarious, you must keep it. Or regift it as a joke to your parents or sibling for Christmas.
