That is hysterical looking.  I would absolutely tie a string around the hat and hang it on my tree – right alongside a very tacky elf made of bells I was given once by my landlady.

Our strangest wedding gift is a wall clock.  It’s made of purple metal, cut out like a mesa/desert scene, with a kokopelli pendulum.  We know it was purchased at our wedding location and later I happened to browse the store that sold them.  Could have been worse – some kokopellis were riding motorcycles!  I hung it up anyway for fun but I do hope no guests take that as being the style of decor we want.

You know about elf on the shelf? I would apply the same creepy concept to this creepy gift for the holidays…

We got a really strange statuette thing , for my first marriage and the giver forgot to peel off all the previous gift wrap before re wrapping in wedding paper,  so tacky and made me feel so deflated.  Would much rather just received a nice card.

izzyrebecca:  That is awesome!! It’s like a kid made it in their school art class!

I got a few holiday platters for bridal shower gifts from friends of DH’s family. I guess one was a platter with Santa’s face on it, and the other is a square bowl with a snowman. Someone also gave me some blocks that spell our FALL… which was really cute. I love decoarting so they were perfect!

One of our strangest gifts was a crystal bowl that was in the shape of a peacock. It’s still sitting in the box, and we’ve been married over 1.5 years. I searched online for the thing forever and never could find a place that sold it, so we have no idea WHY it was gifted (from a family friend of DH’s family). I think we may end up donating it. We also got some other crystal thing from another fmaily friend on DH’s side (I see a pattern of weird gifts), that we will definitely be donating. Although, it’s like one of those things, for me, growing up that my Grandmad had for candy… IDK, but we don’t have a place for it anyway.

We got a George Foreman grill which was quite clearly re-gifted. We’re going to pass it along at Xmas to my husbands brother who when we opened it said he likes them. The card with it was really touching and lovely
