I just bought my dress yesterday, and it is strapless. I’ll be adding cap sleeves for comfort, but but they won’t provide much function beyond covering me up.
My dress has some built in cups and a corset back. Now, should I wear a strapless bra underneath or go without? I’ve been told both that you don’t need it and that you do. It isn’t needed because the dress takes care of it all, but that it is needed because the bra helps to hold the dress in pace.
Ladies with strapless dresses, were you naked underneath or all bra’d up? How comfortable were you all day?
Thanks!

@SweetFlower: I was naked underneath. The corset on the dress was enough to support me-I didn’t have cups. If you have cups, the bra would be overkill. I spent a lot of time and energy trying to find a bra, and in the end I didn’t need one.

@SweetFlower: I didn’t wear a bra and the corset was enough support. Think it would be uncomfortable with a bra and cups.

Skip the Bra!! ALWAYS!!! I dont care what size you are. If a Strapless corset dress can hold ME up, it can hold anyone up!!

I had a strapless corset-back dress and I still wore a longline bra. The corset provided a lot of structure but I didn’t have cups in my dress. The longline bra wasn’t at all uncomfortable.

I don’t plan on wearing a bra with my dress. I’m not sure if I will have the seamstress add cups – the corset is so tight, I’m not sure if i’ll need them.

I had originally bought a really great strapless bra to wear with my dress, but when I went it for alterations, the seamstress told me to take it off. It looked a lot better! I’ll just have to get over my discomfort from not wearing a bra in public 😛

I just spoke to my seamstress and she said that getting a long line bra is a waste of money. The corset will provide more than enough support and suck you in enough.
