So I got my dresses yesterday at a store that is far away and we don’t have time to go back. My wedding is next Saturday. Ah!
PROBLEM: I have like not even an A cup….the dress is strapless. The dress “fits” but if I raise my arms almost at all my boobs just come right out. I kept trying to tell the alterations guy I wanted to make sure it would stay in place, but he kept saying. “well why would you put your arms up like that.”
Anyway, I got two dresses because my Fiance and I met swing dancing so I knew that I wanted two dresses so that I could have my dream dress, and a short dress so I could dance.
I love my long dress and wanted to wear it for as long as possible because it is so pretty. This means it will be on for the first dance (which is slow) and bouquet toss. So I will have to be raising my arms!
So what should I do? Would just doubled sided tape work? Should I try to get it altered again at somewhere close to me? Would you just change into the second dress that has straps earlier?

@loohoo12: ah! i have the same problem.
i was at my alterations appointment 2 weeks ago and i was trying to show her how much room i had up top and how i didn’t want to slip a nip. she had hte same reaction as your guy! she said “but you’re not going to move like that”. and i said, “oh yes i am!”
i added cups and convinced her to take it in a half inch. i’ll go back sunday and hopefully everything will be good. (i am very worried about back fat, however!)
she had also mentioned that i can have some sort of band added on the inside of my dress that would prevent the top from going anytwhere.
so i’d say, hold your ground. ask for it to be taken in a bit or inquire about the band being added on the inside. good luck!

I just don’t have time to go back…..I already took the dresses home. The store is hours away.
Good to know I’m not the only one with this problem though! Haha.

@loohoo12: If you have no option for any more alterations, I would try putting some super-heavy duty double-sided tape along the top of your bra and press your dress against it.
Also, you could consider getting a strapless bra with a little more padding to give the dress a tighter fit. Some silicone stick-on bras might also have a little more grip, as opposed to a slippery satin style.
