It’s totally the generation! I sent future Father-In-Law some previews of our engagement photos as well as a casual photo of a recent event and he had nothing to say about the engagement photos but liked the super casual photo. Annoying.

Totally the generation! My grandmother just says it how she feels haha, I don’t take offense to it anymore.   I recently lost some weight and she says “gosh you look so much better now, you don’t have that fat belly anymore” haha oh my!!

Try not to let her get to you! I’m sure you look beautiful, grandparents just grew up in a different time 🙂

Bad manners are bad manners, no matter how old you are.  I’ll excuse someone in the late stages of Alzhemiers but that’s about it.  Is she ready to be sent to a home?

Try to be the bigger person and not let it get to you?  Weak, I know…

But we can’t wait to hear about the baby shower:)

@Georgia Bee: I completely agree. My grandma has said the meanest things to me, and it doesn’t make it right just because she’s older :(. People don’t change that much with age.

@UpstateCait: I think most people look great in strapless dresses as long as their tailored properly! I’m so sorry she was such a jerk to you :(. You’re going to look great, though, in your strapless dress and hopefully that will shut her up!

Sounds like she doesn’t have a filter.  I’m pretty sure I saw your dress thread and that you looked beautiful, so don’t even give her silly comments a 2nd thought.  I loved my strapless dress and I’m a size 18.

@UpstateCait: I didn’t mean in the wedding world but everyone loses their sensor at some point.

I think you have every right to be frustrated. I’d avoid this woman’s negativity like the plague.

Rude, plain and simple.  I’m a plus-size bride and am wearing a strapless dress.  I’m knitting a shawl/cape for it so that it covers my arms (I’m self-conscious about my arms, too).

@Mrs.Vowrenewal: Yeah, except that we’re not talking about everyone else, we’re talking about this woman who made a shitty comment.

Seriously screw her. What are you supposed to do with that comment? “Thanks for pointing that out to me, I’ll make sure I go find a turtleneck dress with wizard sleeves.”
