I don’t think Volcano is the colour you’re thinking it is. It’s really multi faceted and looks more orange than purple. Here’s a full shoe of the volcano as an idea.

Here’s a chart from LovetoCrystal.com

I think how long they last depends on how well you take care of them. I’m strassing suede right now and it’s a bit more difficult than the tweed-ish texture of my first pair. I’ve read that it’s adviseable to scuff up patent leather with fine grain sand paper so the crystals stick better.

@Mrs_BB:  Straight on the volcano looks purple but it’s really more orange. I am currently strassing a pair of shoes with it… Here’s what it looks like in a picture I took last night of my progress.

A quick search for “sphinx” on Dreamtime Creations‘ website pulled up some flatbacks. I order my crystals from them so it might be worth taking a look.

Sorry this is kind of threadjacking, but does anyone know where those earrings come from originally? I notice many etsy sellers are selling the exact pair, so I don’t think they are handmaking them.

Just from my personal experience with strassing (I put purple flat-back crystal “zebra stripes” on a pair of black fabric Rocketdog wedges to wear in case my heels start hurting):

I worked with fabric shoes and read from other bees on here to use the E6000 glue (which is kinda toxic but industrial-strength, so it might work on whatever surface your shoes are).

My fabric shoes were black, and I think this would definitely work for your peacock colors to go overtop of.

Hope that helps a little!?

I haven’t bought my shoes yet, I was thinking blue or gold but I dont think you would be able to see it through the crystals anyways so I wouldnt worry about that ๐Ÿ™‚

What if you did Caribbean blue, emerald, and purple velvet?
