I have a friend that has a bunch of stray kitties that are living outside of her house. She is going to bring them to the shelter soon.. but was waiting, hoping that some of her friends would want to adopt them vs just putting them all in a shelter (esp around the holidays, she doesn’t want them to be gift kitties only to be put back out on the street). So my question are there are any VA beach area bees that are looking to adopt a cat? If you are let me know!

thanks 🙂 My friend has been posting on fb.. and she got a lot of flack from some people. They’re yelling at her (or whatever the equivelent is online) because she hasn’t brought them to the shelter yet. The kittens are only 5weeks old and she’s taking care of them for now. So she’d rather them stay where she knows they won’t be tossed out on the street again or put down. Shelter is definitely a last resort.

I’d advise her to call the shelter and ask what the current situation there is – kittens are highly unlikely to be euthanized at shelters unless there’s something really wrong with them physically (like a terminal illness) because they are so adoptable. They’d do better socially if they were taken inside and put in shelter foster homes for a few weeks.

She’s planning on taking them to the shelter this weekend. Just seeing if anyone wants to adopt before she has to put them into a shelter where they take adopters away from other cats that NEED to be adopted. Plus there’s the whole adopting a cat as a present thing she hopes doesn’t happen.
And she’s taken them into her own home for the time being… she can’t keep them too long though. Just seeing if anyone here can adopt them!
