I am a street size 18 and have my first appointment on December 30th.  I have a couple of dresses in mind from various designers but I am on a budget ($600 MAX).  I’m beginning my search at David’s Bridal (closest shop to me) and I’m nervous.  This particular store has received very poor ratings in the past but I talked to the store manager today and she was very nice on the phone.  I made sure to tell her that I was plus size and I mentioned a couple dresses I have my eyes on and she said they have them in the store.  We’ll see what happens when I go shopping but I’m hoping it’s a good experience because I LOVE a couple dresses in their Spring 2013 line!

PS – everyone’s pictures are so pretty!  You ladies look fab.

Here’s my size 24 dress.  I did not let the number on the label get me down, I love it and I look great in it.  When you find the right dress, you’re going to look awesome.

I said YES to the dress! (pics!) : wedding dress fit and flare full figured plus size winter wedding Allure1

I was scared to death before I tried them on too! But as soon as I found the perfect dress (picture below) I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world. When you find THE dress, you will get that feeling. Don’t worry about it. I am a street size 16/18 and the bridal expert at David’s Bridal said I would be exactly a 17 in dresses if they made it. Anyway, I was super self conscious until I tried it on and I was for once alright with my weight for a split second.

I’m a street size 18.  But with a figure-flattering dress (and assistance from appropriate undergarments), I ended up feeling very good about how I looked.
