Ok, So last week, I had a burst blood vessel in my eye – it cleared up pretty quickly but it was definitely symptomatic of the stress i’ve been under for the last month or so. I am still in school and I have a hearing for my doctoral recital (I’m an opera singer) tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have been so stressed that I haven’t been sleeping and it is starting to affect my voice, making me tense and forcing me to revert to bad technique. I finally took a sleeping pill last night (over the counter, no painkiller involved) and I got a solid amount of sleep, but I think it’s a case of too little too late, as far as my hearing goes.
I know I just have to go and do the best that I can, but it’s frustrating that things aren’t as lined up as they could have been

I hate how stress affects everything! I hope that you feel better soon and do well on your recital!

I’m so sorry to hear about all of your stress! Try to take a little time for yourself today – even if it is going for a short walk to clear your head, or taking a bubble bath with some candles. Just try to relax and clear your mind for a few minutes without thinking of everything else that’s going on.
Good luck tomorrow!! I’m sure you’ll do fine!

Just chiming in to say I sympathize. I feel like every day, there’s some new catastrophe with the wedding or in my life outside of the wedding. Makes me want to call off the wedding and elope at city hall.
Good luck on your tests. Try to take a few minutes to breathe!

Just wanted to say – I PASSED MY HEARING with flying colors!! My teacher told me she’d never heard me sing so well!
Now if I can just get this last paper done, I can get down to the serious business of being a bride-to-be!
