So here’s my dilemma… I have been dieting since August and am doing good… 50 pounds gone so far. Great, right? Well no…
When I ordered my dress in February I was feeling overly confident and ordered a size smaller than I was then. Well I tried it on yesterday when my sister/MOH was in town and IT DIDN”T ZIP!!
I have 194 days to go (6 months) and am starting to panic. I’m maybe a size or so away (hard to tell and everyone tells me wedding dresses run small to begin with). Can I do this or should I start exploring other options. I can’t return the dress because it is past the 30 days and can’t exchange for a larger size because the style is discontinued!!! Has anyone in a similar situation had to alter their dress? What did you do!??
Suggestions? Thoughts? HELP!

Just keep doing what you’re doing, and I think you’ll be fine! It wont’ hurt to check out what’s on the secondary market as a “just in case”, but I wouldn’t spend any more money on a dress until you’re closer to your date.
Remember to be as good as you have been, and just keep at it. Good luck!

I am not too sure what you can do…can it be taken out at all? That may be something to look into. However, the reason I wanted to leave a comment was to tell you congrats on losing 50 pounds! That is amazing and you should be super proud of yourself! I too have a bit of weight to lose. My dress fit when I bought it but now won’t zip at all! So I feel ya, but none the less congrats on doing so well with your weight loss and I am sure everything will work out great! Good luck!

Is it zip-up or corsett? You can get a corset and you won’t have to worry about it being a size too small. But 6 months is a lot of time to lose more weight. So don’t panic yet:)

Its zip up.. I was thinking if it doesn’t fit as I get closer maybe I can get a dress maker to change it to a corset… that would give me an extra size. I’m praying I can do it without that but I have to be realistic heaven forbid! Thanks for the support… I have my fiance calling the gym tomorrow so maybe knowing I need to get in my dress will get me motivated!

Don’t forget too the smaller you get the less amount of pounds you need to lose to go down a size. Congrats on the weight loss!!

You have plenty of time…….plus its over US summer, lots of salads fruit swimming running. You lost 50 pounds from October, it is totally doable.

6 Months is a long time! If worse comes to worse, maybe they can make it a corsette back?

The weight you’ve already lost is amazing! Put the dress in the closet, have the corset contingency plan, and just keep at it!
