i had an ultrasound alittle over a week ago. i got a call last thursday saying i have another ultrasound for tomorrow. i dont know why my doctor would have me go for 2 ultrasounds so close together. im really stressing myself out thinking that there is something wrong. i already had a scare at the begining of my pregnancy so now i worry about every little thing that happens. it just seems alittle weird that they would be doing another one if everything was ok.

@soon2bmrs.D: Don’t stress out until you talk to someone. I had to have one repeated early on and it was because they didn’t get a good reading, so they wanted to redo it. Everything was fine, it was just some kind of technical error.

I’ve heard of this happening simply because they didn’t get the right measurements the first time. It could be that at looking at the charts, they forgot a measurement, and they just need to complete it to make sure that they have all of the data.
Could you call back and ask the office why you need a second one? That might help for some peace of mind!

I agree about calling and asking why they’re doing another one. It seems like your doctor would have discussed it with you if you needed to go back.
It could be something as simple as a clerical error where their record from it was misplaced or mis-filed and they need to do another one so they have it for future reference.
