So here’s the scoop!
I have a photographer that I LOVE, BUT he is very pricey. For $5000+ I would get 8 hours of coverage, a dvd of all high res images (all edited), an album, and an in-studio engagement shoot. Now, I am getting a videographer as well and I knew that photo would be the one thing that I would spend the most money on. I’ve met with him and we really connected instantly. He’s so easy to work with and I feel extremely comfortable with him…However, I don’t know if this is unreasonable….
Here is the link to their website

I have two other photographers though that I am looking at.
Photographer #2 has a similar style for around $2500 -$3000, but I’ve never met with him and when we were emailing back and forth I got the impression that he was kind of rude.

Lastly, Photographer #3 seems really nice and her pictures are nice as well, but I’ve never met with her either. She would be priced around the same as Arising about $4000 without an album but with 10 hours of coverage.

So ladies, what would you do?!? I’m at a loss and I would like to make a decision by next week because these photographers book fast. Any opinions?
Thanks so much in Advance

I would give Photog 2 another chance – well, honestly, I would 100% definitely personally meet with each photographer you’re seriously considering before booking with anyone.
Email is tricky, and a straight forward business manner could easily be misconstrued as rude – you’d hate to miss out on such a great deal on similar quality photos just because he’s not great with email!

I think that all 3 would do a great job at your wedding, but I would definately go with #1… all their pics are amazing & they have creative & flattering angles. Their site was the easiest for me to use.
Photog #1 is amazing! If you have it in the budget, I say go with them! Plus, you clicked instantly, which is a very good thing :).
I think Photog #2 is also very good. Plus all the reviews on her site show that people love her work & enjoyed working with her.
Photog #3 is good, but if they’re the same price as #1, I think #1 is much better. To me, some of #3s pics seem “flat”. Their site was really slow & so I couldn’t look at all their albums.

You should meet with the others before making a decision.

Want to add, I was a little biased because I like #1s style the most. But, go with whichever photographer’s style YOU like best!! I think all 3 would do a great job. Also, meet with them all (or the ones you are seriously considering), because email isn’t very personal & can come across as rude when its really not supposed to be.
Also, don’t stress!! You picked out some really good photogs, so no worries! 🙂

@brady3537: Are you in Michigan? My photographer is moving from New York to Tenessee, but she’s less expensive than the ones you have listed and she’s AMAZING. Here is her website: http://www.courtneydavidson.com/
You would have to cover travel expenses, but as an event planner I’ve worked with many photographers and she’s the best. I’m getting her basic package which is $2,200 and includes eight hours of shooting, engagement session, and other good stuff.

I would definitely consider meeting with the others before making a decision. But if you have the space in your budget and you really love it, then go for it!

I would meet with No. 3, and from there, decide between No. 1 and 3. No. 3’s editing is more my style (kind of has a vintage effect), but No. 1 is also very, very good. I think the editing choices in some of No. 2’s photos were questionable (a bit cheesy for me, if that makes sense).
Keep us posted in who you pick!

I agree with the other posts. Meet all 3 photographers before making a decision and go with your gut. You will then know how much you are comfortable spending and who you can see yourself working with in the future.

I personally think 5k is wayyyyy too expensive, especially for only 8 hours of coverage. I also have no idea where you are from. So, to put things in perspective for you, here is what I am getting in Buffalo, NY:
-12 hours and unlimited locations for coverage
-12 page album
-Bridal Portrait session, Boudoir session and Engagement session
-A few prints that we would like….3 11×4 or we can break that down however we want
-Every style of photo (traditional, fine art, photojournalistic)
-and at least 750 proofs for us to keep
we are getting all of this for $3225 … the boudoir session is $225 so without that (which is a surprise for my fiance) our photo package is $3000. I found that this is about average for Buffalo. You can definitely spend a lot more here and you can find a few photographers for less.

Wow ladies! thanks for all the input! i really appreciate all the help! I agree with a lot of the comments and I have set up an appointment with #3 for next week and #2 wont even email me back…..oh well…..I’ll let you know how it goes! Y’all are great!
@Florin: Yes, I’m from MI 🙂 and that photographer looks great! I’ll look into it! Thanks so much!!
@kaitlinaandjason: I agree it is a lot to pay for photography expecially for what I’m getting and thats why I’m having such a problem, because I’m in love with their photos. I’ve been working everything around in my budget to make it work and now that I can afford them, I’m rethinking my choice. I have to be absolutely sure before I drop that kind of change! Thanks so much for sharing! I really like hearing what other bees are getting in their packages. It kinda puts things in perspective for me!
