I would ask your trio for a list of their classical repertoire.  It will slim down your options so you don’t go crazy trying to find a song, and it will be something they’re already familiar with as well.  They should be able to provide you with this.

A couple that I have heard recently are Bach: Cello Suite No.1 in G major and Bach: Jesu Joy of Man Desiring.

Below is what the string quartet played at our wedding. Delibes, Flower Duet from Lakme. Here is a link.

(The part of the piece we used starts at around 00.43 and the quartet played until 2.08)

I have attended several weddings where chose Pachelbels Canon in D was played. It is a popular choice so if you like it then use it.

I walked down the aisle to Bach Cello Suite No. 1 – Sarabande

I also thought about Clair de Lune, but I just had a solo cello and the cellist didn’t think it would sound as good as it does with a trio or quartet

MissCtoMrsR :  This.

Why is your mom vetoing music you and your fiance both love?

Even if your parents are paying for the wedding, your songs are pretty personalized choices and she shouldn’t be selfish enough to think her own tastes or  whoever it is she needs to impress with her idea of poshness supercedes her own daughter’s happiness at her wedding.

I had a violin player play A thousand Years by Christina Perri as I walked down the aisle. Bridesmaids walked to Canon in D lol
