With 3.5 months until our due date, my mom and I decided to take a fun trip over to BabiesRUs just to check out some of the items I’d been researching in person. Turns out they were having a huge liquidation sale, score! For price and practicality purposes, Darling Husband and I had originally planned on buying a B-Agile travel system, although I’d secretly lusted after some of the more luxury strollers, especially the ones where you can face the baby in either direction.
It turned out that they had the Mamas and Papas Sola on super-sale ($145!), as well as the Britax B-Safe ($90). The store manager told me they’d be compatible with each other with a special adaptor, and I took his word for it.
Well, they’re not, but thankfully he’s letting us do one of two things:
1. Take it all back, and he’ll give us a great deal on the B-Agile system (stroller & carseat) for $209
2. Just take back the carseat, and we can purchase a different carseat that’s compatable with the stroller (still need to research compatibility; looks like Maxi Cosi may be an option, though pricey).
My mom is buying these things for us, and told us that she’s happy with either option; personally she loves the look and feel of the Sola, and so is not discouraging us from turning down the sweet deal on the B-Agile.
Would love to hear what you all think! Obviously the B-Agile is a super bargain, but in the end another $150 is not terrible, and is still less than we’d originally planned to spend. So… money aside – what do you think? I love the full recline of the Sola, the rear-facing option, and the idea of not having to lug the entire childseat when we’re in car-seat mode. We wouldn’t have considered it at it’s $400 original price, but at $145… Still, the B-Agile does get great reviews!
Thanks for your thoughts!
