@SarahSea14:  That’s a bummer. I have never even heard of limits on a wedding party! Honestly, more than 5 bridesmaids seems like a lot to me (I have 4), but if you really want to have everyone included in the ceremony, could you ask the other two girls to stand up and read a poem or something? Then they would be “part” of the ceremony still.

@SarahSea14:  Would the church permit the additional two attendants to process down the aisle either before or after the grandmother and mothers are seated and allow these individuals to be seated in a front pew during the ceremony?

I would have them be in your party and not do the unity candle. What will be more important to you? Lighting a candle or honoring the people most important in your life?

Id say stick with the first church and find something else for them to do. Include them but just not to stand up in the ceremony.

@SarahSea14:  Well, could the other groomsman participate as an usher?

Wow, I had 7 (the Mister’s choice in # not mine) with no issues.  And other weddings in my church I have been to/been a part of had had up to 10.  That seems like a crazy rule. Also, neither of my readers were even Catholic.  Is your church super strict on all things?  Just curious.  Also, I hope some of the creative ideas work out and you can find a way to include everyone in your ceremony.  This just seems like such an arbitrary rule for no real reason.

@SarahSea14:  Good that you found one. My suggestion would have been to go “oldschool” and have everyone walk down but only the MoH and Best Man stand during the ceremony and all the rest sit, so the church got its limit and no one was excluded. I wanted to add that in case someone else has a similar issue later.
