If you look back at my previous posts you will find many about dresses; gripes, fears, excitments, and opinions, but the more I think about a dress style and what I may want, the less I know what is appropriate with my venue and theme? There isn’t a real “theme,” but more like a feeling. We are calling it ‘woodsy vintage.’ It’s warm. inviting, and fun. We also love to mix in a little magical fantasy. We are using this fabric for our color and flower inspiration:
I thought I wanted lace and a short dress, but then I wanted long and tulle, and now I am just not sure what will look right. Our venue for ceremoney and reception is a really cool fruit farm with wood and a stone fireplace. The leaves will be changed and it will be very natural.
Bees, do you have any suggestions for dresses? Pictures would be really helpful so I can bring them into my dress appointent at the end of the month. Thanks and I can;t wait for some beehive help!

Look at some of the dresses in this blog for inspiration:
Katie Walker of KT Jean Designs has quite a few dresses with a vintage outdoorsy feel

have you considered long and flowy for the ceremony and then changing to a shorter, fun dress for the reception?
i feel like flowy and dreamy is right for this type of feel.
what about budget and body type?
My best advice for you is to go with a dress that you love how it looks and how you feel in it and worry less about it “matching” your theme. You’ll look most beautiful in a dress you’re confident in rather than a dress that you picked because it’s what matched.
Good luck and post pix of the dress when you find it!

I actually really like the contrast between a more rustic, warm, down to earth setting and a more whimsical tulle dress. If you feel a little out of place, you could add a woolen/thicker shawl or cover-up. That would also make it feel more fall-y.

I’ve been looking at these dresses. Do you think they would work?

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!
@Selcier: I love those ideas!
Anyone else have a way I could use some “fall” inspiration in my accessories?

Because it is on a fruit farm and very rustic, how about jars of jam as favours?
Or caramel apples with cinnamon sticks tied to it?
