Even before I looked at the rings, I thought you should get the first one. The way you talk about it, it is clear that you absolutely love it. You will be wearing this for the rest of your life and the price difference isn’t that much. If you can afford it, I say go for it!

After looking at the pictures, I LOVE the first ring! It is so pretty and unique! I am not a fan of the setting at all in MoCo ring, but I also don’t like channel set bands. They just look too dark for me. My vote would be the Brilliant Earth ring!

I’m a size 4.25 with a band nearly identical to the brilliant earth band, and I love it. My stone is about the same size too (I think a little bigger, but basically the same) and it looks perfect on my finger. I think with petite fingers you really have to consider the band width, and remember that pretty soon you’ll also have a wedding band on that same finger too!  I had to go with a 2 mm wedding band because anything bigger overpowered my fingner when combined with my engagement ring.

It’s an amythst, not a diamond (he made $14/hour when he bought this while working on his masters thesis, bless his heart, so a diamond was out of the question)

And how it’ll look when we say “I do”. 🙂 that’s a 2 mm band on me, which is the smallest we could find

and just a thought, remember to factor in insurance to your ring budget!

kaycee16 :  awww, thank you!  You brought such a smile to my face 🙂 you know apart from my fiance you’re the first person who has seen the e-ring and wedding band together on me?  Well and now the whole internet I suppose

kaycee16 :  I actually feel like I don’t get to wear my ring enough!  I only get to wear it 4 days a week since I work 12 hour shifts in the hospital and did you know a single drop of chemotherapy is enough to strip the coating off and ruin a ring?  Not to mention it’s impossible to put gloves on and off

I have a friend who got the first ring you posted in white gold and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Her stone was pretty dainty (I think she said it was around .3 carats?) but it sparkled so much on her finger that I couldn’t help noticing it whenever she’d be speaking and gesturing (we got engaged around the same time so I was more aware of rings as well).

I think you should go with the ring you absolutely love and what you would get if money wasn’t a factor. It sounds like that would be the first ring. If it’s within your budget, go for it. The years of wear (and your love for it) will balance out that pricing really quickly.

Come back and share pics once it’s on your hand!

Sunshine024 100%. Not only do you gush about the ring, but also the band is so pretty. My brother went with Brillaint Earth and he and Future Sister-In-Law are very happy with how the ring turned out. You will be wearing this ring for the rest of your life and it symbolizes you and FH’s relationship. If you can afford it, screw guilt! Go with the BE diamond!

You should go with the Brilliant Earth option…

Love your taste… here’s mine. Been wearing it a year and still love it.

kaycee16 :  I have a size 4 finger and also thought I wanted a small understated ring. I went with .5 round solitaire. Literally right away I regretted it and now I’m working on upgrading to a full carat.

If you can, try to find a cheap cz in a .6 equivalent, and another in a 1 carat equivalent, and wear them around the house A LOT. Every night for a week. I wish I had realized at the time that I would think mine was too small when I actually started wearing it.

    Diamond shrinking syndrome is real.
