I like Stella better but it is quite trendy. I’m not a big fan of Louisa, but I do love “Lou” as a nickname!

lwiegand47 :  keep both names as options for now. We didn’t know the gender ahead of time and we had clear front-runners for our name options, but we really needed to meet her to be sure. A few days before I went into labor I told my husband “I’m just really feeling that this baby is [daughter’s name]” Like….SHE was teling me what her name was even though we didn’t know boy or girl yet? It was weird. But it turned out to be true! She was born and my husband said “it’s a girl! oh hi [daughter’s name]!” and it felt so natural.

I’m going to be honest and say I’ve always hated the name Stella. So I say Louise.

The name Stella doesn’t have great connotations for me, it immediately makes me think of that Jamie T song and Stella Artois which has a terrible reputation, so I definitely prefer Louise!

I LOVE the name Stella. I may be slightly biased because It’s also my niece’s name and she’s like mine and my husband’s surrogate child, we love her so much. But all of the Stellas I’ve met have been bright, hilarious, and creative.

I adore the name Stella. My cousins just had a baby girl and named her Stella and she is so adorable. I don’t think it is too trendy, my cousins baby is the only person named Stella I’ve ever met/known. I’m not too fond of Louisa, it doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as well as Stella and you might run into pronunciation issues.

I’m not a huge fan of Stella (no offense!! I think I just can’t help but hear someone yelling “Steeelllla!” when I hear it because of that famous movie scene lol) but I absolutely LOVE the name Louisa. It’s so pretty, and you have “Lou” as a nickname too 🙂

But if you don’t know now, I’m sure you’ll know when you meet her! 🙂

Stella is getting popular now.   Maybe change a bit and go Louise (Lou ease) Stella.

Stella. Louisa can feel like a mouthful. Not all three syllable names are equal in that regard.

I love Louisa. It’s a very strong & beautiful female name that has stood the test of time – truly timeless! Whereas Stella….I just think of all the celebrities that named their child Stella and how it’s going to be this generation’s version of “Peggy.”
