I am due to have my first trial next month and need to start getting my head round some ideas for hair! I hardly ever wear my hair up, but if I do, I tend to like it fairly loose and curlyish, not overly scrapped back or very formal. My hair is also very straight and thick so whilst it holds curls, it can go a bit funny if they aren’t done right.
My dress isn’t what I thought I would go for – wanted something with straps and ended up with strapless – so my earlier hair plans are out of the window now.
I’m stuck really, should I go with hair loosely up/curlyish or half up/half down with curls? I am wearing a fingertip length veil that I don’t want right on top of my head, and flowers in my hair probably.
Do you have any ideas on what might work with my dress at all that you could share? Either your own hair or any ideas you are working from? Thanks ladies!!

Can you post a photos of your dress? (NM see the dress now. Very pretty!)
Have you thought about low loose buns or low loose curly ponytails? I’ve seen those a lot and really liked them.
Whata bout something like this:

#1. I really like your dress! Very pretty.
#2. I think pulled back for sure, but maybe with a little mess to it ala Kristen Bell

I had my hair pulled up for my trial hair run. i loved it. had it sort of loosely pulled up (i dont care for the super slicked back look..esp for weddings). but now im wondering if i should wear mine down.
I’m having bridal portraits done tomorrow and I think i’ll have it fixed down and curled (not shirley temple like)…loose sort of curls. i want part of my hair pulled back with a little ‘bump/poof’ and my veil about in the center of the back of my head. i figured this would be the best way to know how i truly want it for the BIG day, ya know…since I’ve had it styled up once, get it down for pictures and then decide which look I like best.
Just a thought…something you might want to do too….of you can just schedule two trial runs and have it done one way the first time and another way the second.

@cabanagrl9: Haha I know! Great minds think alike.
@NearlyMrsMac: You could also do something like this (similar but without the braids):

Here are two options for hair up – the first two are what I went with..the third one was another hair trial I had – good luck!

Thanks ladies 🙂 You made me giggle putting up the same pic, it is definately one to try based on that! Thanks for all of the hair up ideas, they are really soft which is what I’m after so thank you! Tatertot, thanks, that sounds like a great description of hair half up/half down – great way of explaining it!
I think having 2 trials is going to be the way forward. Will see if I can do that, preferably when having alterations done on my dress so I can see what it looks like with the dress! Thanks ladies 🙂
Any more ideas greatly appreciated 🙂

This was one of my BM’s hair:
And this was my hair, which might be a little more pulled back than what you’re going for:
