I go to a mid-sized university (about 26,000 students total) and while I find it easy to communicate with professors, I’ve noticed anything “official” is a pain in the ass and nearly impossible.
For example, like most college students, I went into my freshman year proudly declaring a major that has absolutely nothing to do with my current field. It only took one quarter to figure that out, and since then I’ve stuck with Psychology (and plan to.) The only issue is that when I switched majors, I marked down B.A. because I was already a B.A. Now that I’ve been in the program and have looked at grad schools, I realize that the B.S. program is more in line with what I love about Psychology and the programs I’m applying to.
So literally, I filled out this whole online form only to hit submit and get the error message “this form is past submission date.”
Blahhhh! Between class and work, my hours rarely line up with that of advisors (considering the typical advisor load is really high) and it’s so frustrating! Anyone else run into these sorts of problems? I feel like for the amount of tuition that we pay, they should have a better system…
