I don’t know 🙁

“be active” is all I got… but I know easier said then done, get Fiance on board to participate so it doesn’t end up being even more time apart.

I’m in the same boat. School, studying, stress, lack of time for exercise, and a student budget have contributed to me gaining weight. I’m also short so the extra pounds make a big difference.

I’m okay with my body, but have areas that need some toning.

Are you studying at the library? Try taking a break to use the stairs, just walk up and down  few times each hour.

Go for a short run/intense walk daily, just 20 minutes. You will be amazed how much better you feel.

I would hit whatever stairs are around you.  Since I’ve moved to FL, the land of no second story houses or basements, I’ve put on weight.  I eat the same … I’m completely putting the blame on no stairs.    I used to take the stairs EVERYWHERE.

When I was in college I put all my notes on notcards and would walk around campus reading them.  You could try something like that but safer.. like on the treadmill at the gym.

I think you look great…. us big boob girls tend to always worry we are getting tooo curvy.  I know studying makes you eat crazy and not move around much… good luck!!!!

@kfiorita: How about go off of how you feel. Are you comfortable? Do you like your body? Does your SO like your body? Do you feel healthy and have energy?

If yes to the things above, then stop looking at a chart and be happy in your skin! That is a generalized scale, don’t stress over it.

I’m not going to tell you how to feel about your weight, mostly because my opinion doesn’t matter, it’s yours that does! So go by how you feel.

If you WANT to lose weight because you feel like it would make you more comfortable, then by all means do so, but don’t let a chart pressure you.

P.S. Petit refers to your height in this case, not your weight.

@kfiorita:  I defnitly agree that you dont look fat and dont need to lose weight as long as your blood work comes out clean.

I have the exact same situation as you. Even with overweight my body looks good. The only thing that works with my for cellulite is Pilates. I wouldnt say you have a large frame at all I would say you are petite too. With pleasant fat around the body.

Do you have in Iphone or ipod or ipad?If you want to lose a little weight I have an app on my phone it is called  ” my fitness pal” it is a diary I add everything i eat and It helps to see what I put in my mouth.I honestly think you look great and maybe just for health reasons  diabetes and high presure you should try to lose 4 5 kilos.

I lost a lot of weight doing a smoothie in the mornings if it helps me not to feel so hungry and gives me a lot of energy. It is around 250 calories. And I just eat lean foods the rest of the day as long as you dont go over 1200 calories you should lose the weight gradually and in a healthy way.

1 half frozen banana ( I peel them and put them in the freezer in a ziplock)

2 frozen strawberrie

6 frozen blueberries or half an apple

1/2 a spoon of chocolate or vanilla slim fast. It is a meal suplement and has a lot of vitamins.

I put all in a big glass then I add the milk and I put all in my blender. Yummie yummie

Try to walk as must as you can it is really the easiest way. If you take the bus for example try to get of at an earlier station and so on it wil make you walk a little more.  Buy yourself a pilates dvd and work on those legs you ll quickly see the cellulite disapear.

@kfiorita:

I found that diet plays a big role in weight loss… I started cycling to work approxmiately  3 times a week about 7 months ago (25-30mins one way), I kept the same food intake, not more or less… and I found I wasn’t losing weight after 1.5months. Admittedly, I was probably putting on muscle weight… but numbers on the scale was really disheartening…

About 5 months ago, We started the paleo/primal diet which meant cutting out wheat, grains and potatoes, cutting most dairy and increasing vegetables and lean meat, this was to help treat SO’s IBS problem because the doctors couldn’t fix what was wrong with his gut.

He’s been really strict with it, and his IBS has calmed down… but I haven’t been as strict and when I have meals by myself I eat grains and wheat. He has lost 10kgs without much trying… and I’ve lost about 3kgs.

I must add, I’m not overweight or would be considered so if you went with BMI scale, but I had gained about 5-6 kgs in 2012 and wanted to lose this.

I was a gym addict in college! My favorite machine was the elliptical stairmaster! Now I’m a runner!

Ok, I think you look AMAZING.. You don’t look “fat” to me, but I think that it is always a good idea to eat the best we can and exercise as much as we can not only for the health benefits but for the added comfort in our own skin.

These are my best tips for losing weight:

  1. Have a breakfast high in protein. Not only does this keep you feeling fuller for longer, but your insulin won’t spike and cause your blood sugar to drop. I usually have an omelette with ½ egg whites, tuna, spinach and spices. You can mix it up with ham, chicken, mushrooms, tomato, onion.. whatever!
  2. Stay away from white carbs- rice, potato, bread.. there are such better options with higher nutritional value. Look for Quinoa, brown rice and low carb wraps (watch the sugar).
  3. Fruit is amazing and so so good for you, but I find if I eat too much, my weight loss stalls. If you snack on fruit often, swap it out for nuts or some lean protein.
  4. Drink water,  and limit the calories you drink. Lattes, cocktails, soda.. all filled with calories. Swap it out for water and stay hydrated.
  5. Incorporate strength training into your life. You don’t have to go to the gym, there are plenty of exercise videos on youtube you can do from home to help you build some muscle.. the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn.

There are so many more but they are the basics.

Good luck!

Diet is 80% of weight loss. Think about it … 300 calorie slice of pizza is a HALF HOUR of running at 9:00 pace!!
