The thing that immediately comes to mind for me is to put a lot of thought into your seating chart. Of all the weddings I’ve attended, the only ones where I felt bored were the ones without assigned seating. My fiance and I ended up sitting alone most of the time or walking around searching for someone to mingle with. If I’m at the same table as people I have things in common with and enjoy talking to, the conversation is enough to ensure I have a good time.

One of the best weddings I attended didn’t have dancing at all and I hardly drank. It was a small reception at a cozy, formal restaurant and my fiance and I had a blast because we got along so well with everyone at our table.
