Hey Bees, I’m a long time lurker.
Here’s my problem: I’m trying to lose 10-15 pounds, I’m 5 8 1/2 and 155-160 lbs right now. The thing is I already eat really healthily, and have been for a long long time (lots of veg, lots of water-i never drink soda or juice, etc) and excercise a bit. I am a full time art student so I’m constantly moving about at school and I walk to/from school a mile away.
I’m not really sure what to do, cut calories or just ramp up the excercise? I went to New Zealand over xmas break and I really miss the swimming, so I think I might take up swimming for excercise.
any thoughts? Thanks!

Exercise is good but it’s only 30% – the rest of the equation is diet. Have you tried keeping a food diary to see if there’s any sneaky little diet killers in there? And cool that you were in NZ!

The best thing to do as well is (if you have insurance) is visit a nutritionist they will go through your diet for you and help you make better decisions (if your diet is an issue).

I think it’s also good to keep in mind that weight, on its own, doesn’t mean much. I mean, it’s good to have something to mark your progress, but it’s pretty imperfect as a marker of fitness or even fat %. I find it more helpful to keep track of how tight my pants are, or how fast I can run a mile, etc.
