wow. that’s totally insane. talk about lacking social skills AND lacking size perception! 140 and 5″6…that’s what i used to weigh too and my height (now am 135 due to wedding diet). but i know i was not ever overweight because when i told people i want to lose 10 pounds they looked at me like i am crazy.

Never listen to the opinion of someone who is hitting on your Fiance right in front of you. If a girl asked me if I was pregnant and then winked at my man…grrrr…. I would barely be resisting the urge to punch her in the face. We are the same size and I am SURE you look great and not the least bit pregnant!

Wow that is just crazy! I mean it’s bad enough to say it once, but I can’t even believe she kept talking about it after she figured out she was wrong!! What is she thinking?! And from what you said, I’m sure you don’t look pregnant so don’t even worry about it.

WTF!? What is wrong with the world today — diamonds are “tacky” and 140 lb women look “pregnant?”!?!? Good grief!!
She obviously kept repeating herself cause she was embarrassed but still… what an IDIOT.

Sadly, I am the freak who can tell when people are pregnant, some times before they even know. It has to do with the way one walks as the hips spread…it would take a while to explain, but long story short even when I am 100% positive someone is pregnant, I keep my damn trap shut.
Five bucks says that your Fiance was paying you lots of attention and the woman behind the counter was mistaking that for taking extra care of you because you are with child.

I can’t believe that she kept repeating that you looked like you were pregnant…some people are just idiots. There’s no way that you look pregnant at your weight/height.
I was student teaching at an elementary school and was doing the pregnant woman stance (hand on back, hip cocked, stomach out…I need to break myself of this habit) and one of the little girls walks in the room, looked at me horrified, and says “YOU HAVE A BABY?!?!”
I totally felt fat the rest of the day…even though I KNOW it was the way I was standing. How embarrassing!

I’m sure you look amazing, people say the stupidest things especially when they’re jealous broads wanting your man. I’d just chalk it up to stupidity.

I hate when people dont think before they speak. When my son was about 5 months old I had lost a bit of weight and was excited to go out. I ran into someone I knew and they asked me when the baby was due. Totally ruined that day.

Wow, I must look like I’m about to pop out a kid then. I am about 5’6″ as well and weigh 155lbs (thyroid problem) so my goal is to be at least 130-145. Don’t listen to her though. I’m sure there isn’t a slightest chance that you look pregnant. People are just ignorant.

Ha ha, then I must look like a heifer next to her. Hmmm…, I weigh more than you and when I tell ppl I’m trying to lose weight for the wedding, they look at me like I’m crazy.

Ugh, that is so awful. I would have been upset too! Your height and weight sound average, so I think that was definitely ridiculous of her to think, let alone say. One of my best friends and I were at the beach once, and someone asked her when she was due. She was not pregnant, 5’5″ and weighed under 125. This is why even if someone is clearly pregnant, I don’t say anything unless they bring it up!

well if she said “you AIN’T pregnant” she is a idiot anyways!! i hate the word ain’t!! lol Don’t even worry about it at 140lbs i can’t imagine!! I must look like kate gossling when she was pregnant with all her kids then!!

Weird. I’m the same height, I weigh more than you, I AM pregnant, and I don’t even look pregnant. So I sincerely doubt that you do. I think there was probably just something about you that made her jealous, because I can’t fathom anyone saying that to, well, anyone!

Did you reach across the counter and slap some sense into her? What a bitch. I cannot believe that some people have no filter. Seriously. Your the same size as me so I must be pregnant too. WTF? She sounds ignorant.

@jenroh1984:I have made this mistake before and I still feel horrible. I saw a lady that looked pregnant and had on a maternity dress. To me she looked 5 or 6 months so I thought it was safe to say congrats. She said she had gained some weight and she was wearing a baby doll dress. I felt so bad. I will never mention pregnancy to a woman again unless I have been told personally that she is expecting. I am sooooooooo sorry this happened to you.
