Okay, im going to start looking at dresses soon. So do I need a bra?! LOL, the reason I ask is, ive never wore dresses before. Do the wedding dresses give you enough support so you dont need a bra or what?! Also for under garnments…obviously white?!
Are people in the room when you get changed? :X

@peachbaby4008: It kind of depends, but I wore spanx (nude color) and brought a strapless bra. However, I ended up buying the strapless bra bodice thing (that goes to your hips) from the first place I went dress shopping because it made the girls look super nice, and I didn’t want to wear the ones that they just give you.
At my appointment they gave me crinolines that I wore with most of the dresses, so it covered up the spanx. And yes, the consultant was helping me get in and out of the dresses, so she saw me in my bra (which she also helped me put on — those things are complicated!) but she didn’t really see me in my spanx bc the crinolines covered that up.
Have fun and don’t worry too much about that part!

Yes you need a bra. I would suggest white or nude undergarmets, (I actually wore pink..hahaha). The consultant will help you in and out of the dresses because most of them are too complicated to put on by yourself. Just makesure your undergarmets cover enough that you feel comfortable with a stranger seeing you in them.
Oh also, one place game me a longline bra to put on but I passed because I thought it was totally gross putting on a bra that a bunch of people have worn.

Someone was in the dressing room helping me, and they had strapless bras that you could use (in different sizes). If you aren’t comfortable with that you could always bring your own. I wore a thong, but I’m not too shy. Might want a little more coverage if you are shy about someone else being in the dressing room with you.

They will give you a bra if you don’t have one, but I always wore a strapless because I wanted to wear my own bra with my own fit. I always wore boyshorts for underwear. There is usually someone in the room with you when you get changed, and you are often standing around in just your underwear, so you want to be comfortable! The color of the undergarments doesn’t really matter as the material is usually thick enough that you can’t see it (I wore black boyshorts once and it was fine). I also always wore or brought my own heels.

I just made an appointment and the salon told me to bring a strapless bra and heels that were approximately the height I’d like to wear for the wedding. I think I’ll also wear modest-coverage underwear because like some PPs have said, there will be a consultant in the room while I change and I don’t want to feel too awkward.

My suggestion is to ask if they provide you with anything when you call to make your appointment and/or a day or so before you go so you can be prepared. White or nude colors are probably best, especially if you’re going to try on shear materials. Wear under wear you’re going to feel comfortable with wearing in front of someone. When trying on bridesmaid dresses my sister wore bright hot pink underwear that had a ghost on it that said “Boooootttyyy.” It was a good laugh lol.
When I went, I just wore white boy short type of underwear and a normal bra but I was provided with a strapless bra that goes down the waist/stomach and hooks in lower back area. Realistically though, it’s whatever you feel comfortable with.
