It isn’t common, but it does happen. I was pregnant once upon a time and I had a normal period followed by a miscarriage. I was so astounded I couldn’t believe it, and I would have never suspected I was pregnant.

If you’re worried, you’ll want to do a blood test to be as accurate as you can get. It can happen, it just isn’t common.

Edited to add: The period was not the cause of my miscarriage.

@pmerr:  If your BBT temps haven’t gone down, that would be enough of a trigger for me to take a test.  A lot of women experience different types of bleeding in the first trimester.

Sometimes it takes a couple of days for your BBT to come down, even if it’s normal for it to drop before AF. It’s also likely too early for you to be feeling such strong nausea. I think it usually starts around 8-12 weeks or so. However, if my period was being strangely light, and my BBT hadn’t dropped, I would definitely test! You never know!

@MrsFarmer:  I agree, I would take a test.

I saw that Walmart started carrying $.88 tests. They look kind of like the ones from the Dollar Tree. You could try there. They were on an end cap at my local store.

I got the same period as you this month. In fact I am also on my day 3. Exactly same as you!

We started TTC on Nov 27th.

I did take an at-home preggo test and wow, what a waste of money cuz it was BFN. Yell
