Hey Bees, I have been searching for cheap styrofoam balls/half balls for my DIY centerpieces and found this site. Just thought I’d share!
Let me know if you’ve come across anything cheaper, especially for the larger ones, like 6 or 7 inches!
Post pics of your DIY pomander centerpieces, I need some inspiration!

@MissCountryGirl727: Thanks for this site! How many do you need? I found some good bulk prices on Amazon, but they tend to be for smaller ones like 3-4in. http://www.LaCrafts.com also has some good prices, but I think the site you posted has better.
I’ve seen on previous threads where Bees used bath poof balls from dollar stores. I’ve also come across posts on the interwebs where people just ball up some paper and secure it with packing tape or twine!
Good luck 🙂

Still working on perfecting it!

I found some styrofoam balls on ebay, they were 6”, and they were 5 for 18.00. I cut them in half so really I have 10. I didn’t think this was too bad of a price. Here is my DIY Pomander

@HisMoon: You’re welcome! I did a trial piece using half of a 6″ ball and I think the size is perfect for my vases. I will have 27 total so I’m looking at needing about 14 balls that I can cut in half.
@TMB47: That’s beautiful! Please post a pic of the final product!
@Lindsay22: No, that’s not a bad price at all! By The Way, when searching for inspiration for my centerpieces, I think I came across your picture in the DIY section? I had already purchased my eiffel tower vases and I wanted all white flowers. If I’m not mistaken, your post led me to buying the white open silk roses from efavormart.com…so, I guess I pretty much ended up stealing your centerpieces! How tall is the vase in your picture? I have 16″, 24″ and (2) 32″ eiffel tower vases. I think I will use half 6″ balls for the table pieces, the 32″ ones will be floor pieces and was wondering if I should try larger balls for those two?
Here is a picture of two that I’ve been working on…
Sorry for the huge pics!
I added a few white pearls in the center of some of the flowers. I didn’t have enough to do a lot of them, but just wanted to see how they’d look. My tables will be teal with a black and white damask runner so I ordered tons of white pearls and I’m also going to try it with black pearls in the center. I originally wanted B&W anemones (darn Pinterest!!!) but they aren’t in season for my wedding and I can’t afford them anyway. Also, the only silk ones I can find are all cream. 🙁 So I thought adding black pearls to the center of the roses could give the same effect?
I’m also playing around with having strings of pearls dangling down from the bottom, but I’m currently waiting for all the pearls I’ve ordered to come in. I will post a pic of what it looks like with black pearls soon!

I made one of these, and it was such a pain that I decided to make something else for aisle decor/centerpieces. Plus the styrofoam balls aren’t cheap. I do love the look of them, I just have way too many DIY projects. I’m turning this pomander into my ‘toss bouquet’ (we’re doing a prize giveaway and including all of our guests; male, female, single, married, etc).

@MissCountryGirl727: Oooh you’re welcome!! hahaha. Just kidding. They look great, and I am glad I could help. I actually just baught some more styrofoam balls about 5mins ago off ebay for the same price so now I will have a total of 20 pomanders for about 36$ for the balls. Your centerpieces look great, and I would love to see the finished product. I am going to work more on mine tonight, and add the cyrstal strands from them!

@kellmerr: I got an e-mail from them about those 50% off coupons so I printed them out thinking I could use them on envelopes for my Save the Dates. I bought the envelopes and a two pack of caligraphy pens and couldn’t use any of the coupons because these things were already on sale. I didn’t even think about looking at the styrofoam balls…I was on a mission to get my Save-The-Date Cards finished! LOL
