Has anyone used Polystyrene for flower balls/pomanders? I’v never heard of them and was wondering how they compared to Styrofoam. Can you puncture them to put the fake flower stems in there? Or is it like a Nerf ball lol
I found 8″ Polystyrene balls for 5.00 which is half the price of the Styrofoam balls… Shipping would be a big hassle if they aren’t what I need since i need about 10-14 of them and they take up a lot of room.
Any help would be AWESOME!!

Although, I have no experience with polystyrene, I was researching this very topic the other day. Most of the websites I came across said that styrofoam was better for floral, where as polystryrene was better for painting (ie: think solar system projects). In the end, I went with styrofoam brand. I got 2-pack 4in balls at Old Time Pottery for 2.50 and no shipping since I picked them up.

Not sure about polystryrene….I just used styrofoam and used the joanns coupons to get them to save some money! Mine turned out great with the styrofoam!
