We didn’t know, but I had a subchronic hematoma early in this pregnancy.  My body reabsorbed the bleed at some point in my pregnancy, and the baby is absolutely fine.  My doctor actually didn’t catch it until my 20 week ultrasound, at which point they discovered that the cord had implanted partially on the membrane as a result of the earlier bleed.  At this point, my doctor says the only concerns are that the placenta may need to be manually removed after delivery (ouch!).  But the baby looks great, and the original hematoma is no longer an issue.

I hope you have a similar outcome.  I know it’s scary, but hopefully this will end up not being an issue for you.  I’ll keep you and baby #2 in my thoughts!  🙂

I had a subchorionic hematoma, too.  They found it at around 12 to 14 weeks or thereabouts.  I was pretty nervous about it but as Mrs. Spring described, my body reabsorbed it at some point during the pregnancy.

I would try not to worry about it.
