Currently holding my napping 8m old as I reply 🙂

i woke up ~3m bleeding, bright red. I woke Darling Husband crying, sure I was miscarrying again. We rushed to the ER (ob office was closed on weekends) and was relieved to hear a heartbeat. Got diagnosed with a SCH. I continued to bleed for a few days but it tapered off. I had follow up visits with the OB that week to ensure everything was ok.

Over the course of two more months, I had 6 more bleeding incidents. Not as heavy as the ER visit but some were scary enough that I’d rush from work to the OB to get checked out. Each incident lasted a few days. So basically I bled on and off practically every week during 2nd trimester.

I wasn’t particularly active during my pregnancy so that wasn’t a factor. The OB asked if I had sex, thinking maybe that’s what caused subsequent bleeds. But nope, after ER trip, we were terrified and stopped intercourse.

i hope your SCH will clear up. It was a very nerve wracking time and I didn’t enjoy most of my pregnancy being on edge. I even bought a fetal Doppler for peace of mind.

I had them with both my pregnancies (oldest now 2, youngest 2 months)

with both I was put on pelvic rest so no sex from 6 weeks when they started bleeding.

With both the bleeding mostly stopped about 11 weeks but I had a few heavier bleeds in that time.

with my first I had another bleed at 27 weeks and was told to rest a lot more after that.

MancBee :  I had a SCH with my now three year old. I know how scary the bleeding can be, so I feel for you there! I would always bleed if I was being too active, even just carrying a load of laundry was sometimes too much. I know they say that you’re either going to bleed out or absorb the blood and it doesnt matter, but I think taking it easy and avoiding causes of bleeding made mine go away faster.

I had one with my first and one with my third. Spotted with both and was on pelvic rest with my current pregnancy until 13/14 weeks. Latest scan, all had resolved. Hang in there!

I had one at 12 weeks and I was devastated because the last pregnancy had ended in miscarriage and I was so fearful it would repeat itself. But luckily I worried for nothing because now that baby is a rambunctious 2 year old.

Yes – at 5.5 I had a big bleed at work and thought for sure there would be nothing in the sac when I ran straight to the RE office for a scan. To my surprise (because the first time I bled at 5 weeks from my first IVF I found out it was a chemical), we heard an early heartbeat and saw my precious little bean. He is now a toddler! That SCH resolved sometime in my 2nd Tri.

I also have a friend who bled for most her twins’ pregnancy and was ultimately on bed rest for 5 months before delivering two healthy 37 weekers.

I know it’s a sucky waiting game but have faith!

Yes, I now have a healthy 3-year-old! Around 12 weeks I felt a pop and started bleeding all over the place. Soaked through underwear, pjs, sheets, and left a trail of blood on my way to the bathroom. Looked like a crime scene. Thought for sure I was miscarrying but it turns out it was a SCH. They told me it was quite large and I had extra scans during the second half of pregnancy to make sure she was growing okay (IUGR is a risk).

I bled for over 16 weeks heavily almoat daily. I also had hyperemesis gravidarum that pregnancy and was in and out of the hospital three times a week for the first half of my pregnancy.

I had a full term, healthy baby boy who now is 19 months old and the happiest kid you could meet. It was so scary having all these issues with my pregnancy,  but everything turned out great in the end

I’m 15 weeks today and had a SCH bleed at 8.5 weeks.  So far so good….  Wishing us both good luck!

I am 36 and 1 with my SCH baby. I had two of them, and I rested as much as I could and stayed hydrated. I bled until I was 15 weeks along, but this LO is a trooper, and yours will be too!
